I m going to break the tie by voting for vaanisri :clap: During my childhood I used to think that sivaji-vaanisri are real life couples too, after watching sivakamiyin selvan, uyarntha manithan, vasantha mAligai. Very recently saw this film with my dad, the name escapes me right now. Sivaji, Muthuraman, Vaanisri are medical students. Vanisri is Muthuraman's sister. Story by Mahendran IIRC :confused2: Anyway their chemistry was too good in that film too.

Padmini - she was good with sivaji in UP and TM. Did not like her in other films (those I have seen)

Sivaji would be a womaniser and Vs would decide he isn't in love with her, or isn't interested in marrying her.

Sivaji would run behind her but still would have his pride intact not to share his love.

Sowkar feels a little older than NT.
Kanchana is not even in the competition.

That leaves with NT-Devika, NT-Saroja Devi, NT-Padmini and NT-Vaani Sree. That is how I order (in reverse) the combination.

Just Hub member's, SP. We are not equivalent to Indonesian population. Veliya vantha, I'd say majority will go for Padhmini, with Devika trailing. Vanisree belongs to an era where quality of films, in general, took a downward spiral - as is generally perceived (yes, PR's Jelebi being one of the reason that era is not thought of fondly).

I do agree, infact I was surprised to see VS opted so much :) also, sivaji was well beyond his youthful look (if we scrutinize him with critical lens) to be admired along with VS. He belonged to Padmini, devika era. no doubt.

Number of movies NT did with VS can be counted with fingers as it doesn't even strain to reach double digit.

The surprising faact however remains, despite all these drawback, they made lot of heads turn back towards them, when they worked together, name it even in few films :)

I am surprised too. Oh well, Vani...Vani, she sure was gorgeous. I believe she became so popular that she was granted a super heroine film of her own, Vani Rani a remake of a remake of a remake of Engga Veettu Pillai, and NT played supporting role in it.
