Seriously. Hilarious expression. One can clearly sense that he's having a last minute doubt whether his mom's change of heart is for good or not. Nuanced acting I suppose.

Actually its a pleasure to watch performers throw up expressions while singing or playing music. It adds impact to the listening experience, make you feel closer to their music.

In this case, eventhough prabhu isn't actually playing sax, he did the best he could do.

That was indeed an ordinary performance from Sivaji. Hyper-acting. And I don't think it can be explained as a percussion thing either. Compare Baliah playing thavil in TM.

This was raised and then praised, when the film was released.

Avvaiyaar didnt say katradhu kai man alavu for nothing. Like they say, ignorance is bliss, so go on and be gleeful in burying caesar when you should be praising him instead. :P

As I have said a tonne of times earliers I have a very restricted range of liking.

I classify MC performance as one where everyone who was making it was applauding Sivaji for whatever he did and he suffered from having no check.

To stop things from getting abstract a la the notorious 'western sensibilities' , or having to buy in the context specific to the performance etc. I am making a very simple comparison
