Thiruda Thiruda (his best), Karuttamma, Uzhavan, Kizhakku Cheemaiyile, and definitely the forgotten Andhi Mandharai.

Raaja
Thalabathi
Sethu
Thevarmagan
Mahanadhi
Heyram
Idhayam
Moghamul(didnt watch the movie fully. till whatever point i saw, bgm was good)
Rahman
Alaipayuthey

Deva and others
Baasha
Kushi
Kurithipunal
Annamalai
Raaja's - Thalapathy & Guna (1991) . I still remember the deepavali which blossomed my musical interest at 12, Watching both these movies is an incredible experience. While every others of my age was going gaga over Rajni & Kamal, Raaja's music just blew me completely. Manusan eppadi thaan manage pannaro. Especially Guna's bgm elevated the movie to a different level.
Then there comes the breaking wind Rahman (1992) in Roja on "The Independence Day" an anthem which hooked the whole Indian hemisphere towards kodambakkam panchathan studio. "tamizha tamizha" is my all-time favourite bgm followed by the Bombay theme. The patriotism, peace loving gist that exudates from these two tracks by this gifted prodigy is worth-mentioning!

sangamam doesn fall into the decade???
for many reasons, i dont want to vote and select one specific bgm as best, as there are many from different MDs mainly from IR & ARR. i shud have done the same in best album thread too, but i voted :(
only, best movies thread are eligible for voting as only movies seem distinctly different, not music. atleast the effect

Just noticed...
Amaidhipadai.. menmayana love scens had interesting piece of RR by Isaignani :)
Tune belonged to a song that got axed I believe, "Sollividu Velli Nilavee". The other songs are terrible (The title marching song and the unnecessary Neeyachu, naanachu - low point in the movie itself).Quote:

yes.. there is no duet between SR & Ranjitha.... but I like the title marching song & was searching for the audio (vetri varudhu vetri varudhu - by IR's chorus group Mano, Dheepan etc.)Quote:
