FM: thoonguravangaLa ezhuppalaam.. andha maadhiri nadikkiravangaLa (adhaan..ungaLa) ezhuppa mudiyumaa? :)
Great song and an excellent pick :)
FM , yeah that 'someone' is very busy now :(.
RC thanks for the link. I didnt know cinesouth had such nice details.
Ramki, I don't know how true is the cinesouth details. I thought "chinna muL periya muL" music was done by GA, but sinesouth says SG. :)
Listen to SPB sing the line "kulunga kulunga.." in the charanam. He literally gives the shaking effect. SG's another wonderful tune of SPB that I like is "devi vandha neram" from Vandichakkram, a duet with VJ. SG had a few surprises in store in the 80s and this one ranks pretty high. Its a shame we dont get to hear singer's melodies like this today.
ramki: good job:) Nice pick for the 100th song.
FM i think IR is the MD for chinna muL periya muL. It had the nice solo 'iru vizhigaL pirandhadhamma' by SJ
Pick #101

Song: chinna arumbu malarum
Film: pangaaLigaL
Singer : PSuseela
Lyrics: Marudhakasi?
Music: SDakshinamurthy
A mesmerizing lullaby by PS. She has the ability to change her tone for different actress , atleast for the popular ones. Just by listening to the song you can say its for Anjali devi(and it is for AD).
'pangaLigaL' had Gemini Ganesan and Anjali Devi. SDakshinamurthy has worked in very few tamil films but each of these film had excellent songs
Some of the popular songs by SD are
1)maasilla unmai kaadhale
2)annaiyin madiyil thodangiya
3)neela vaNNa kaNNaa vaada
4)muruga endradhum urugaadha
A thread on dakshinamurthy('s- the thread is about both the Dakshinamurthys)
