Thanks for starting-off this procession into the songs of the yesteryears. I personally believe that it is propelled less by nostalgia, and more by a common craving for meaning in art, while acknowledging that there was still a ton of "unmeaning" in those times as well. Some songs from the the 70s and 80s I'd rather not recall. :-)
The best thing about this is thatit hones and keeps memory intact. And privileged are we to have the time (during breaks, but still) to do so.
My understanding of Andhaadhi may be a flawed, but here's what I've reckoned all along: The last word of the first line should open the second line. The internal repetition is also echoed in the rhyme scheme abab. Now, am I way off in this understanding? Should it also include a song like Therottam (a great song) - although it rhymes only in A? and there is no last/first word ?
Could somebody please clarify?
Sugamana Sindanaiyil is a superb duet. One of IRs earlier gems.
