Interesting to see Rajini singing a song that too for Rahman. Rahman shud be smart enuf to make use of the good cue points in Rajini's voice and eradicate not-so-nice things with technology. This will be an added attraction. I guess rajini is willing to show that he can and will do any/many things, to send world the message that he is perfectly alright. Good i say!

படையெடுத்துச் சென்ற இவன், முதலில் சேர நாட்டை வென்றான். பின்னர் சோழ நாடு, கொங்கு நாடு, கருநாடகம் அனைத்தினையும் வென்று அனைவரையும் கப்பம் கட்டுமாறு ஆணையிட்ட இவன் மருதூரில் நடைபெற்ற போரில் பொதிய மலைத் தலைவன் ஆய்வேளையும் மங்கலபுரத்தில் மாரதரையும் வெற்றி கொண்டவனாவான். சாளுக்கிய மன்னனான விக்கிரமாதித்தனுடன் போர் புரிந்து வெற்றி பெற்றுப் பட்டம் பெற்றான் ரணதீரன். இவ்வாறு வேள்விக்குடிச் செப்பேடும் கேந்தூர்க் கல்வெட்டும் கூறுவது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. .
ரணதீரன் ஆட்சிக் காலத்தில் மதுரைக்கு வந்து அங்கு பாண்டியன் மகளை மணந்து, சோழ மன்னன் ஒருவனையும் சந்தித்தார். திருவாலவாய் இறைவனையும், திருப்பரங்குன்றப் பெருமானையும் பின் வணங்கினார் எனப் பெரிய புராணம் மற்றும் சுந்தரர் தேவாரமும் கூறுவதும் குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. (பெரிய-கழறி-91-2) (சுந்தரர் தேவாரம் திருப்பரங்குன்றப் பதிகம்-பாட்டு-11).
இடைக்காலப் பாண்டியன் ரணதீரன் கி.பி. 710 ஆம் ஆண்டில் மரணமடைந்தான்.
