Was the 1989 Rajni film Called "Shiva" a remake from a telugu movie ? If so was the MD IR as well?

Sathya was one of few films of kamal that I did not see. Only saw it yesterday!
Wow what a film? Kamal was awesome in a tough guy character! IR's music , SK direction and PC Sriram camera work were excellent. One doubt though, who was the guy who played the villain (bald one)? was his voice dubbed by SPB ?
thanks

#295 என்ன தான் சுகமோ நெஞ்சிலே
(மாப்பிள்ளை, 1989 , ஜானகியுடன்)
Yet another SPB-SJ duet, moderate hit (radio / bus / functions / teakkadai etc) from the same Rajinikanth movie. Though I never had this song in any of my personal collections / recordings at any point of time, I got the song strongly embedded in the memory because of listening to it from a variety of sources those days. While this song cannot boast of some new-rhythm arrangement like 'mAnin iru kaNkAL' number, definitely very soothing and "kEtka sugamAna" melody. The top duet singers obviously add a lot of value with their "voice chemistry", though the song was like 'another day in office' for them :-) Same goes with rAsA, who had 'another day at office' in the orchestration / melody / interludes - nothing earth shattering but with minimum standards and hit material.
Possibly another Rajini-Amala romance on-screen, should check the youtube later today. Like I mentioned, the movie was watched with disinterest / slumber etc and I don't remember this song on screen at all. That way, absolutely nothing whatsoever of any kind of nostalgia associated with the movie or song(s). Despite that, the song has easily made its way to this compilation & this thread on its own merit / hit status :-)
Discussed ofcourse! # 142 of our list
That was a college-days-delight & how can I miss? :-)
I liked the Comedy encounter involving RK, SSC and V.Chakaravarthy from mappilai. quite enjoyable :)
