Sunil, are you learning Tamil?
Well, I'm kind of teaching myself how to type it thanks to character map and google transliteration :) but as far as speaking and understanding is concerned, I'm very very premature :( so I just about read sentences after spending like two minutes deciphering the words lol but I would really love to speak it

It's funny how no snow is present at the end of the clip and then we see the sun's rays comming through the window, I assume it's because Rahman ji's music (a.k.a the sun) can melt anyones heart. :rotfl2:

Khamosh Raat - Thakshak

Liberation - :notworthy: especially from 1.17 when the violin / other string instruments take this track to another UNMATCHABLE level!

Roobaaroo (RDB)
Had my lunch at KFC today with my peers. They were playing some hindi songs on shuffle and the place was so noisy. Suddenly they played this song and the whole place became quiet for the next 5 minutes.
Who said only Sachin can stop time in India?
 The moment that guitar starts Roobaroo, a sense of unexplainable happiness and peace just goes through me. :D
Ada… A Way of Life. The most underrated soundtrack. What a soundtrack? May be because the film has not released :(
My favorites:
Hawa Sun Hawa - Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik
Great composition, and rendering by Sonu and Alka. The flute is the main actor in this song. Also the underlying rhthym when observed separately, it seems will not fit to the tune, but when listened together, the rhythm seamlessly fits the tune. Amazing. Very soulful tune.
Milo Wahan Wahan - P Jayachandran and Alka Yagnik
My favorite singer PJ, but he also the most underrated singer. What a song, the improvisations by PJ and Alka is too good. When PJ starts singing, Alka hum still continues, (voice counterpoint?), makes it more interesting. The last line in charanam is the most interesting part. I thought it will be same like the previous line, but stunned how it continued to pallavi. Humming is the killer of this song!
Meherbaan - A R Rahman
Rahman makes it simple, just the tune and singing takes to greater heights and brings life to the song.
A very gloomy and soulful soundtrack. Wish Rahman composes more soundtracks like these!!
V_S,
Did you listen to Ishq Ada Hai (female version)? Best song of the album, IMO. There are many fans for that song here as well.
Thanks LM for mentioning about Ishq Ada (female version). How can I forget that song. Superb tune and very soothing song!. I loved especially those improvisations of 'Ishq Ada' line, without mentioning 'Ishq' etc. Sweet voice of Parul Mishra.
I was only listening to Ishq Ada, Gum Sum and Gulfisha when this album came, even till last year and those were my favorites. After a long time, when I revisited recently, somehow those three songs (in my other post) stuck to me and became my favorites, and I just wanted to highlight those songs. Also, I have a habit of listening to less known songs.
There is a flow in every song and very soothing, that's why I liked this soundtrack. One of the greatest soundtrack of ARR!
@ V_S, Sorry to be a pest but how could you forget, Tu mera hai... IMO, it was a complete dark horse and it's saddening that the ost was underrated. I doubt the songs catch up after the movie's release, which is on the 24th this month. Truly depressing moment - when thalaivar's finest work gets commercially washed away (i.e. bose and ada).Quote:

Please don't feel sorry. Good catch! I had no intention to leave out any song in this soundtrack. I just replied to LM whatever came to my mind at that time.Quote:

Even I loved the instrumental version of Meherbaan, Ishq Ada (Rashid Ali) and Hai Dard (oh man, what a song! Udit sang very well). Did I leave out any song? :)
As you rightly said, It is hurting that this OST is not getting its due, but I am hoping to after the movie release.
Don't worry bro, I wasn't expecting you to write the complete track list hehe. But then again, ADA is a complete album and every song is just as great, that mentioning few tracks and not others would trigger people to give their own preferences (Each to their own).Quote:

manasa thethikkalam atleast someone gives a mention. Thanks!
i like the male version too for its unconventional rhythm.... and the guys modulation in the later part of the song...Quote:

Nachle (Lakeer)... The day I heard this song, I was so over the moon that I played it to my black and white class mates and the majority of them loved how thalaivar managed to merge so many instruments together, so finely.. :victory:
Such a fresh tune
Thanks Brother!Quote:

:exactly: In fact, all the interludes of this album are mind blowing (except Monalisa song). And almost all songs feature flute, which is rare in an ARR album.Quote:
