75 years of Tamil Cinema: Singapore

To celebrate the completion of 75 years of Tamil Cinema, the Nadigar Sangam, under its President Mr. R. Sarathkumar, is going to have a week long festival of Tamil Cinema in Singapore in August, 2007.

The Event in Singapore will start on Monday August 6th, 2007 and will go on until Saturday August 11th, 2007 for a grand finale.

Following are the proposed activities:

Retrospective of Tamil Films
Patti Manram
World Premiere
Celebrity Dinner
Grand Star Nite Show

The Grand finale will be on August 11th, 2007 (Saturday) at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. A star studded Broadway style Musical Show involving all the actors and actresses of the Tamil film industry is being planned for the gala evening.

The Nadigar Sangam has confirmed that all the artistes from the Tamil Movie industry will participate in the Show

The show is being orchestrated by Radaan Mediaworks India Limited and is organized by Galatta.com through its newly formed subsidiary called Galatta Global Events.

Galatta.com has been given the role of the Internet Media Partner for the event.

This show is going to be the biggest show ever in Tamil Cinema history will ALL your favorite stars performing and gracing the occasion.

You can look forward to a week full of fun and if you plan to visit Singapore during that time you should plan to be there!!

After the Singapore event, there will be another show planned for 2008 also as a continuing part of the 75 years of Tamil Cinema festivities in USA.

Though one feels happy that tamil cinema has completed 75 years, why they chose not to celebrate here is a mystery.

P.Vasu is doing all type of promos like cycle rally, free balloons with film name for his film THOTTAL POO MALARUM in which his son is the debutant hero.

*தன் மாமனாருடன் இணைந்து பிளாஸ்டிக் ஒயர் தயாரிக்கும் தொழிற்சாலையையும் நடத்தி வருகிறார்.

*அரசியல் கட்சியில் சேர்ந்ததாலேயே இவருக்கு சினிமா சான்ஸ்கள் வரவில்லை என்கிறார்கள் நண்பர்கள்.

filmfare awards are ok, but for best actor & actress.

It must have gone to pasupathy for veyyil & sandhya for kaadhal.

Not sure about the Director part.
In a site, I saw Vasantha Balan's name in the Best Director category. Not sure though :)
