The movie starred Raghuvaran & ? and the charanam being in sawaal-jawaab style( reminding of Sippi irrukkudhu muthum irukkudu-VN Sivappu).
Regarding CM's comment on Mayile mayile( SBP & Jency-Kadavul Amaitha Medai)about the disjoint between the song and the film per se, I am reminded of the following:

I dunno about the Noolveli film sequence but definetely reminds me of the Sindhubhairavi -Sivakumar/Sulakshana sequence.Look at the contrast of the response of the two
heroes to their counterparts....

marupakkam: Salem Vishnu (Thyagarajan, Roopini - MD Sangeetharaajan) padathu paatu thondai-la irukku aana varamaatennu adam pudikkuthu. I hope by the time I remember it, Naaz or Saravanan would have made the posting.
Another Thyagarajan movie PoovukkuL bookambam also had couple of good songs.
