Makkal Thilagam MGR Part 8

AMMA RESTAURANT was opened in 1983 in Chennai, and was named after Dr. MGR's wife Mrs. JANAKIAMMAL, who was endearingly called AMMA (which means mother) by their followers.
Mr. Chinnaiah, the founder of this restaurant was born at a small village called AMMANKURCHI, in Pudukottai district, located in the CHETTINADU area in the Southern State of Tamil Nadu, INDIA. He had the privilege of serving Dr. M.G. Ramachandran (M.G.R) as his head Chef for more than two decades.
AMMA RESTAURANT was the vision of just one man's dream - The great Dr MGR (Ex-Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, and Matinee idol). Due to Chinnaiah's loyalty, sincerity and culinary talents, Dr. MGR aided the opening of a restaurant at the premises of the Member of Legislative Assembly Hostel (MLA's Hostel). இன்று கலைஞர் தொலைக்காட்சியில் தேர்தலை முன்னிட்டு கலைஞரது 45ஆவது பிறந்தநாளை ஒட்டி அறிஞர் அண்ணா அவர்கள் வழங்கிய வாழ்த்துரையை பின்னணியில் ஒலிபரப்பி கலைஞர் முதல்வராக இருந்த சமயத்தில் எடுக்கப்பட்ட பல வீடியோ பதிவுகளை பளபளக்கும் பிரிண்ட்டில் வழங்கினார்கள். நமது ஜெயா டிவியிலோ மக்கள் திலகத்தின் பொது வாழ்க்கை சம்பந்தப்பட்ட எந்த விதமான வீடியோக்களும் ஒளிபரப்பப்படுவதில்லை. அப்படி ஒளிபரப்பப்பட்டாலும் மிகக்குறுகிய காலத்திற்கு மட்டும் மோசமான பிரிண்டில் ஒளிபரப்புகிறார்கள். அவர்களுக்குக் கிடைக்கும் போது நமக்கு மட்டும் ஏன் கிடைப்பதில்லை. 1969ஆம் ஆண்டு எடுக்கப்பட்ட வீடியோக்கள் எல்லாம் அவ்வளவு தெளிவாக இருக்கும் போது 1977 முதல் 1987 வரை எடுக்கப்பட்ட எந்த ஒரு வீடியோவும் நல்ல நிலையில் இல்லை. ஏன் மக்கள் திலகத்தின் கடைசி திரைப்படமான மதுரையை மீட்ட சுந்தரபாண்டியன் படம் கூட மிக மிக மோசமான நிலையில் தான் டிவிடி வடிவில் கிடைக்கிறது. மக்கள் திலகத்தின் படங்கள் அனைத்தினுடைய நெகடிவ் கூட இல்லை. மிகவும் சேதமடைந்துவிட்டன என்பதை ஏற்றுக் கொள்ள இயலவில்லை. காரணம் அன்பே வா திரைப்படம் சன் டிவியில் ஒளிபரப்பப்படும் வரை மிக மிக மோசமான பிரிண்டில் தான் பார்க்க முடிந்தது. ஆனால் உலகத் தொலைக்காட்சிகளில் முதன் முறையாக என்ற முன்னுரையுடன் சன் டிவியில் ஒளிபரப்பப்பட்ட போது மிக மிக அருமையான பிரிண்ட்டில் கிடைத்தது. அதே போல நினைத்ததை முடிப்பவன் படம் கொலம்பியா பிக்சர்ஸ் வெளியீட்டில் மிக சுமாரான படைப்பாகக் கிடைத்தது தற்போது மோசர் பியர் வெளியிட்ட டிவிடியில் மிகப் பிரமாதமாக உள்ளது. முயன்று தேடி இந்தப் பணியை செம்மையாகச் செய்ய ஆளில்லாததே காரணமோ என்று எண்ணத் தோன்றுகிறது. நண்பர்க்ள் இது குறித்து தங்கள் கருத்துக்களைத் தெரிவிக்கவும்.

The most important thing is such videos should have been preserved at all costs. But that depends on an inner attitude much more than the outer framework. If this attitude is present throughout then anything is possible.

There are good prints available but most of them will not be watched by us. Recently I had glimpse on Times magazine documentary about movies in that crystal clear Thalaivar movie clips were shown lasted only for seconds.
