He has a very powerful pair of eyes which comes handy for his action sequences. You can watch any fight scene of his post Ghilli and find the cinematographer giving importance to his eyes. The latest being Kaththi, where G C Williams, uses a few seconds, to focus his eyes in the pre interval fight. Another example is the police station fight in Jilla where Ganesh Rajavelu starts the sequence from Vijay's eyes. And even in the small sequence where Vijay injures Pradeep Rawat, see where the emphasis is on..

2. Speed and style

Like I said earlier, he may not be menacing with his lean body. But can keep you engrossed with his speed. Be the climax fight of Kaththi or the dog fight in Thuppakki, he makes his moves with terrific speed and style. A similar knife fight was done by Allu Arjun in Iddarammayilatho, stunt choreographed by the same Kecha. But you can see the difference straightaway.

While Allu uses knife with speed, he doesnt have any style. He does a 'karikkadai bhai'. But Vijay uses the right kind of pauses, subtle mannerisms like lifting the shirt, etc coupled with speed. A treat to watch

3. Usage of kicks

Even though he is not an exponent like Arjun, Vijay has had some training in stunts during his initial days. His flying kicks are second to none. In almost all fight scenes of Priyamanavale, Kushi and even in Kaththi he uses them to perfection.

December 04, 1992. It’s been 22 years now and I still remember that night, anxiously waiting for Nalaiaya Theerpu. I spent that night hoping and dreaming for people to accept me as a mainstream lead in Tamil cinema. Looking back, I felt I have got more than what I had dreamt that night.

Udhayanidhi Stalin is waiting for Ilayathapathy Vijay

In a moving gesture, Vijay sent an emotionally nostalgic thanksgiving note yesterday to mark his completion of 22 years in the industry. Vijay fittingly thanked all his producers, directors, co-stars, family, friends and fans. In the long-list of producers, Udhayanidhi Stalin was also one. He’s probably one of the few contemporary producers in the list which is dominated by veterans. In fact, Udhayanidhi Stalin debuted as a producer and launched his banner Red Giant Movie with Vijay’s Kuruvi directed by Dharani.
