Vijay beats Suriya and Ajith in 2014
Popular search engine, Google has listed the most searched celebrities in 2014, and in Kollywood, Ilayathalapathi Vijay who had a stellar year in terms of box office collections with ‘Jilla’ and ‘Kaththi’ has made it to the top list followed by Suriya, Ajith, Rajinikanth, and Kamalhassan.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay firmly holds the first place
We are living in a time and age when Google has become an indispensable part of our lives. We switch on the internet, log into Google and search for anything and everything under the sky, and the search engine promptly and quickly spews out a barrage of worthy links which are bound to educate and enlighten us on whatever that we were searching for.
Google has come out with its 'Top Charts' for various categories like People, Movies, Bollywood Actor (Male and Female), so on and so forth. We can see the data for 2014 and also for the preceding years way back to 2004. We can also see the data as a whole for the period 2004 - 2014, and also filter it based on location.
If we explore the search trends, among the senior lot of Tamil stars, Ilayathalapathy Vijay leads the pack as the most searched actor for 2014 and also for the period 2004 - 2014. Suriya follows in the second place. In the years 2006 and 2009, Suriya was the most Googled actor whereas Vijay holds the first place for all the other years in this decade.

Google Trends: Vijay outshines Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Ajith yet again
Ilayathalapathy Vijay has outperformed his colleagues in the industry for the fifth consecutive time in Google Trends’Most Searched Actorcategory in Tamil cinema. 2014 is finally coming to an end. While everyone is busy making year-end listicles, Google has released its Top Trends in Searches category wise for the year. Vijay is shining at the top beating other stars including Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Ajith and Suriya.
Interestingly, Suriya occupies the second slot and Ajith is placed third. Rajinikanth, Vikram and Kamal Haasan occupy fourth, fifth and sixth places respectively. In fact, in the past decade (2004-2014), Vijay has lost the top crown to Suriya only two times (in 2006 and 2009). Jilla lead pair Vijay and Kajal Agarwal have achieved one more mile stone in 2014. The stars who were also part of a Thuppakki that entered 100 Crore Club in 2012, have been declared as the most searched actors of South India during the year 2014.
December is here, trade and the fans are looking out for the toppers in various fields. Coming to South Indian film industry, in Google Trends Vijay has been listed on the top in movies category closely followed by Kajal Agarwal. Tamanna, Samantha, Ajith, Mahesh Babu, Pawan Kalyan and others were placed next.
After their successful Pongal release Jilla, Kajal Aggarwal had two Telugu releases Yevadu and Govindudu Andarivadele in 2014, while Vijay has one more 100CC film Kaththi in his kitty. Directed by AR Murugadoss Kaththi stars Samantha as female lead.
Currently, Vijay is busy with prestigious fantasy thriller untitled Chimbudevan film, whereas Kajal Agarwal is acting with Dhanush in Maari and NTR in Temper.
