before its shooting wrap up....
Joe, Rama and Balajee,
I watched the movie from the below link. It is available in youtube.

Parker
Directed by Taylor Hackford
Based on Flashfire by Donald E. Westlake [wonderful series]
Starring : Jason Statham as Parker, Jennifer Lopez as Leslie Rogers, few theives, others getting shot.
Parker is a theif. After a fine heist, he is double crossed by his team members and is left for dead. After being rescued by a famer family and with the help of a Realestate agent Leslie, he tracks his ex-team members to teach them a lesson or two.
Not much action in the film. The film goes forward with many problems. There are couple of major ones, other than the plot-holes, one being either the director or Jason Statham have not clearly understood character Parker (those who have read the novels will make out what I am saying), secondly many characters come and go, some even disappear, only left are Statham and Lopez. But some scenes do capture our interest.
Statham gives his usual macho performance - same, same & same. But it is Lopez who made me say "This lady can act". She is brilliant as a failed and depressed realestate agent. She shines in the scene when she offers her help to Statham.
Parker - for fans and to kill time.
Mama
A genuine horror flick which thrills you most of the time. Climax was a bit let down.
Its under Guillermo del Toro [whom I highlighted in my Hobbit review] executive production. Awaiting the movie here, think its a May release.
I see that you are watching a bit of horror flicks these days. Did watch Sinister and Possession. Was not impressed with either, so did not post a comment. But Sinister, as you had mentioned, had 2 or 3 jumpy-moments whereas Possesion was dry.
Forth comming (for summer 2013) : Evil Dead & Poltergeist.
[Evil dead is the movie I was scared when I was kid, had a good laugh with my friends in my teens and later judged it to be cult & classic]
Same here with Evil Dead. It scared the s#!t out of me when I watched it in the 90s. Now it's as funny as Hangover or a Due Date.
Poltergeist wasn't scary. Lets see if the new version is.
Evil Dead gave me a severe headache after watching it... and it was on video tape those days.
Extremely scary film... that I dared not re visit again!
Agree with people on Evil Dead. I saw both the parts when I was kid and had to watch dozen other spiritual movies to erase the impact.
Anjali-um illa Panjali-um illa :)
Even if one doesn't wish to communicate something to a particular person in a family(who gets angry at the drop of the hat ala Venkatesh in the film) they will be pushed/pleaded to do so by his/her family. This routine happens often in families which I have seen. I thought the film brought out that well. Mahesh even says something like why don't you tell it to him which makes his mother angry. :)
Evil Dead ellam cult classic dhaan......how many low budget movies do we get with such linear narration nowadays.....
infact 1980s is a treasure of lot of B grade sci-fi, horror stock and we have towering movies like blade runner, shining too.......i think much like tamil movies, 80s was golden era for hollywood too....
saw a movie Dune 1984, it was repulsive at places and a failed film trying to get out of novel......but scenes were really other worldly....nothing ever seen like that before........
Neerparavai... One of the best movie 2012 :-)
Pesama intha padathuku KADAL-nu title vetchirukellam
Watched 'Taxi Driver' (De Niro flick) - I don't get the hype surrounding this movie.
That was may be a slight compromise.... The director had said in some interviews that he cast her because he wanted the movie to be noticed by people outside TN.....and to know the plight of fishermen...... For that he needed a nationally known face ......
Titanic la Rose um appadi thaane :)
I would not call it it a hype. Its first of it kind movie to showcase the street horrors + the mental status of a ex-soldier + the charcters detachement with the soceity + how he cures himself with his violent thought by taking the role of vigilantie. Robert de Niro as Travis Bickle was real and thru his performance proved how much he had understood the depth in his role. Jodie Fosters character was a big slap on the soceity. There are much more including the brothel sequences towards the end.
So this movie was welcomed by the audience, critics as well as got some good reviews. Try to watch the movie again after seeing some interviews and analyses by people involved. You will find the difference.
Wasabi -  Original of Jaggubhai. KSR had copied this 98%. Goundamani character was really good and by casting goundamani he had spoiled it. Hero gethu
Mumbai Hpress : ippadiye natha maathiri voorna innum ondra naal aavum pola
Where is the Vs thread? ......
Now I know the reason how a crap like CM can have a record breaking run. Nothing to confuse with the himalayan box office pull of S* otherwise a deadlock. In such a scenario and in the absence of power stars not so fan of these two + family wave might have stormed into any little superstar films and made a hit. Is that Sachien? All blame goes to MX and how much of Crazy mohan is missed here!
These are the very very few albums that mark the presence of IR in 00's (what is the purpose of jazzy score) has no relevance to the script. Now wait... That Ramanarayan trained C3 crane operator has subtle relevance to the opening song amazing :notworthy: I can safely say now Thenali chi..kazhudhai Soundramukhi have better songs that MHpress. idha indie le vera :rotfl:
Rhythm(Arjun,Meena,Jyothika etc)
Watching this film again after some time. Apart from the ayo pathikithu song(did not see a need for it in the film),really enjoyed the movie. Liked the comedy between Arjun and Mannivanan especially "unga kaala konjum kattunga sir" jokes. AR Rahman's music and bgm
Saraswathi Sabatham on youtube..
Wat a Beautiful songs.. TMS, Susheela and KV Mahadevan
Nagesh and Manoramma were extremely funny..
apart from that the movie was a head ache..
Enna sir, six adikkira madhiriye poyi kadaisila dokku vachutteenga? :)
illingo.. Film was good till character establishment. But over a point of time, the content was redundant and thus the feeling :)
Wasabi hero is Jean Reno (Léon, Visitor, Godzilla & some excellent French thrillers). Wasabi is written by Luc Besson (5th element, taxi series, transporteur series ... etc.) They both are quite famous in Europe and hollywood.
The french version is much more funnier than the english as the essence of the jokes were missed in the translation.
Wasabi is a plant quite spicy like the mustard.
I recommend you to watch Les rivières pourpres I & II. [In english Crimson River]
hi mappi,
"Les rivières pourpres" is actually a novel, don't know if you read it ? ... if not read the book, 10 times better than the movie (even if the movie was good in parts)
And for Jean Reno, recently i watched "Comme un chef" with him and Mickael Young in lead ... quite a good "french style" movie ...
Hi Pras,
No I have not read the novel. Vincent Cassel (Sur mes lèvres (Read my lips) with Emmanuelle Devos - I always wanted this movie to be remade in Tamil with Ajith & Simran in the lead - too late for Simran, but Ajith is still on my cards) & Jean Reno are in my good books for their performences. Mickael Young ... rien à dire.
And I did not see Comme un Chef. Soon they will put it on TF1 ..
Inescapable [A Canadian Telefilm production]
Release Year - 2012
Written & Directed by Ruba Nadda (Candian (F) Film maker)
Starring : Alexander Siddig, Marisa Tomei, Oshua Jackson & Others
There are so many negative reviews floating around this film amoung the few people who have watched it. I enjoyed this movie especially the integration of Drama and Thriller into one. Eventhough the Plot is similar to Taken and keeping in mind the production/cast/Banner value of Taken, Inescapable is a good work which deserves a mark.
Adib is a computer guy working in Canada, quite normal with with his wife and 2 daughters. He learns that his elder daughter goes missing in Syria, but he was not even aware that she is been to Syria. For him she is somewhere else taking photographs. He makes some quick calls and lands up mysteriously in Damascus where he is invited by Fathima. They know each other. Who are they ? Who is Abid ? Is his daughter going missing is a coincidence or was she kidnapped for his past ? The answers to these questions are relevied little by little as Abid advances in the search of his daughter.
Firstly its a intense drama (less or no action atall - depends on how you define action), interesting and fast paced. Eventhough predictable at many places, when the true plot is releived, it comes as a surprise - but there are no twists. Its all about how you play each other with an information and how it could be effieciently used to escape any fatal suituations.
The problem I had with the movie is the accent. After about 20 minutes, I started watching it with Subtitles In English. It helped. Actors were good, but the accent took away the depth in their play.
Inescapable - a jewel from Canada.
mappi,
speaking about french movies, i need to mention "intouchables" here ... watched few months back ... excellent, no other words !
Intouchables : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1675434/?ref_=fn_al_tt_3

Has anyone seen Haridas? Nalla padam solraanga, do we have a thread?
koli koovuthu 2013- Not a bad movie.........watchable. Same old tale of poor hero-rich heroine...
Haridas is a do-or-die film for me: Kumaravelan
Director GNR Kumaravelan has already received the best compliment he can ever get for his upcoming film, Haridas. His father, veteran director GN Rangarajan, was speechless when he saw the film.
Recalling the moment, GNR says, "My dad is my first critic. He had pin-pointed several flaws in my earlier ventures. But when he saw this film at a private screening, he became emotional. He called my sister and told her that his son has succeeded. When my sister told me his comments, I knew I would never receive another compliment as genuine as this."
Starring Kishore, Sneha and master Prithviraj in the lead, the film's being produced Dr V Ramadoss under Dr V Ram Productions Pvt Ltd banner. GNR has written the script, and has penned the dialogues along with Venkatesan.
"The story is about the relationship between a father and his autistic son. I was inspired by the story of a young boy I know personally and was touched by the relationship he shares with his parents. They do not sympathise with him; instead, they motivate him to take up challenges and lead a normal life."
Talking about his actors, GNR says, "I had fixed Kishore and Sneha for the lead roles right from the beginning because they are seasoned artists. I had an excellent team — Vijay Antony, Randy, Raja Mohammad, and encouraging producers who believed in my script, and stood by me. Haridas is a do-ordie film for me, and I think I've done it this time!"
