Facial expressions, body language, dialaak delivery, utilizing the situations (situational comedy) idhellamum remba mukiyam instead of just being plain slapstick! Andha vagaiyile paartha Thengai Srinivasan deserves a mention or two when we talk about classic Tamil comedians... Ofcourse, comedy itself is very subjective and likes/dislikes varies depending on individual tastes! :)

CHO & SVS are "vasanam only" kind of comedians (which are at times very brilliant). However, Nagesh and the likes excel in more variety.

Generally I prefer wit over slapstick, thus prefer Vivek over Vadivelu.

Needless to say why I abhor Goundamni :shaking:

Two erronous statements.The second one is GM is all slapstick. Just too tired trying to correct that set impression GM-haters have.
It is beyond repair.So let me atleast try Vadivelu.

One of the best ones of Vadivelu is the panjAyathu scene in NEsam Pudusu with Sangili Murugan.

There are plenty like things: his timing, delivery of lines, voice modulation that conjure up humour from nowhere are excellent. But yet he continues to be known us the guy who tries to tickles us only by getting beaten up. Hmm !

at the end of the day, its what one is commonly known for, that counts.
