I thought Diamond was pretty honest and nice. Should appreciate how patiently and honestly he answered to the same damn question people ask him all the time. Imagine what IR would've done. He would've probably slapped Gopinath(verbally at least) and walked out of the show if he kept pushing like he did with kavignar.
Yeah, he gave a politically correct answer and avoided talking about the split, which is what Gopi was trying to incite him to do. I don't agree with what he went on and on about a 'combination' - BR-IR-VM- because IR has had many other such director/lyricist combinations but that's ok, he's not alone in having that viewpoint.
Is Gobi an ignorant or agenda driven? How he could simply draw a comparison Raja and Vairamuthu on equal scale? Though I am a fan of both the personalities, I could clearly keep both of them in different planes. They are not equal by any units in terms of their own departments. Srinivas's joyful laugh is one another irritating one on that whole scene when VM says that the real problem is due to Ilaiyaraja being Ilaiyaraja and Vairamuthu being Vairamuthu.
I think this whole episode was one way helped VM to use the media to show his best language skills and gain some benefit of doubt from the Raja-VM parting.
Another thing I noticed is that he did not make eye contact at all. It could mean two things:
1. The individual is trying to deceive
2. He feels superior to others in the studio and doesn't have the need to read his 'subordinate's' feedback, or what the anchor or audience think.

Sivasub,
Thanks a lot for the link. Just started to watch and into the second interlude of "Jaganandakaraka" song. What a tune, music and the magical singing by SPB! It is absolute divine. No one else's music has impacted me so much like IR's.
I always enjoyed Arunmozhi's flute portions (while writing this, I am into the "Mounamela noyi" song...) in IR's concert, because he almost recreates the same tune/sound and the impact is almost like the original.
thanks,
Krishnan
