Thanks Mythila. I wish some new directors use these IR's unreleased/unknown songs for their new movies. The love or sad songs could fit in any 'regular' song situation.
app_engine you are correct. 'aanandha thenkaatru' is from 'MM'.

I think Vijaybabu's son is the hero of 'rightaa thappa' and another movie with kutti radhika.
Ramki,
Thanks for the rare song Ponnoviyam Ondru. I have never heard this before. Nice and pleasant duet typical of Shankar-Ganesh.
Neel D let me know if you need this song for your website

Song: ondrodu ondraanom
Film: anbukku naan adimai
Singer : PSuseela
Lyrics: vaali
Music: iLaiyaraja
One of the best PS solo in IR's music. The starting train whistle sound, the 'dham dham dham' humming that follows the charanams, the guitar interludes and ofcourse PS voice makes this song heavenly. Though the films had other good songs, IMO, todays pick is musically the best.
Hi Ramki !
thanks for the song "ponnoviyam onru"..
equally the beautiful melody "onrodu onranom"...
this song comes as the memories of sujatha goes back to her days with her hubby Vijayan...
IR used the voice of PS at its best...
Undoubtedly "onrodu onnaanom" is the best melody from Anbukku naan adimai. I used to long for this song while the other one "Kaatrodu poourasa" always hogged the airtime. The interlude music is heavenly.
People often complain about `synth' sounds in current songs of IR. Another popular notion is that `synth' sounds were introduced by IR's successors which IR is forced to adopt because of its popularity / cost effectiveness etc.
They should listen to `anbukku nAn adimai' songs (or another Devar films production `Ram Lakshman')...these were nothing but full of `synth' sounds of a kind...(what instrument would you call the `vovavvavEN,vovavvavEN' sound after `kAttiloru singakkuttiyAm', for e.g.)
I don't think one should equate midi with synth...anything that's produced without natural instrument (even if it's from a Casio KB) should be called `synth', IMHO...
beautiful song..
IR had brought out a superb melody
PS had sung so beautifully
also in kathodu poovurasa a perfect folkish duet by PS & SPB
thanks ramki
