Chief Minister J Jayalalitha's last film which had great songs by Maestro. This particular song is quite unique and not many people remember seeing this song sequence or played in a concert/ competition. The song was recently uploaded to the net. Maestro has used western and Carnatic musical instruments and the tune is so melodious. Can anyone realize that this song was composed 34 years ago? That's the mesmerizing musical power of Ilayaraaja. Wishing Him many more years of good health, prosperity and never ending fountain of musical creations!!!

Rajaramsgi, great find. And poem, I am surprised anyone would know that. You knew it. Great! I had no clue :)
thanks,

It seems IR's birthday actually falls on June 3rd, but he celebrates it on June 2nd so that it does not take the limelight away from Karunanidhi's birthday celebrations (which falls on June 3rd).

Rgds - Madhan
"For instance, why do you think a director feels shy to approach me? It is because the director wants to decide the music for his film. And he believes that I won't let him do that" - quote from the interview. Madhanraj - I would encourage you to read the book by Bharadwaj Rangan (The Hindu's film critic and big fan of Raaja) titled "Conversations with Mani Ratnam". There is a chapter on Ilayaraaja and his association. Mani really opens up his feelings on how he worked with Maestro and also Rahman. Though Balachandar was the main mischief maker in rejecting Raaja, Mani went with the producer's advise. Now Balachandar clearly wanted an upper hand while dealing with Raaja and their last association in "Pudhu Pudhu Arthangal" did cause lot of grief. Of course, Balanchandar never got any hit songs after that movie. He finally came around to Maestro.
