how r u? thnx...it was a very pleasant holiday, out of 30 we spent 10 days in munnar, alappuzha boat house, splashing in waterfalls at kumba urutti, koutrallam, etc.
back to business...:) the chicken gravy !!
i make a variety of chicken curries..
white khorma
normal red curry
pepper curry, etc
iam giving here a recipe that I make normally at home when not expecting any guests... :)
CHICKEN CURRY
chicken - 1 no, cut into pieces
oil - 3 tbsp
whole garam masala (cardamom, cinnamon cloves - 2 each
onion - 1, chopped
onion - 1, ground
ginger paste - 1 tbsp
garlic paste - 1 tbsp
green chillies - 2 to 3
tomato - 1 , ground
turmeric - 1/4 tsp
chilli powder - 2 tsp (add more if u like)
coriander powder - 3 to 4 tsp
cumin powder - 1 tsp
salt
ground coconut - 2 tbsp
coriander leaves
1. heat oil , add garam masala and chopped onion.
2. when light brown, add onion paste and chicken. brown.
3. add ginger garlic paste and fry well.
4. add all other items, except coconut and coriander leaves. fry till the raw smell goes off.
5. add coconut paste and fry. add water and cook till done.
6. garnish with coriander leaves. serve hot with plain rice / pulaos/ rotis.

i dont know...my hubby says if there was an overload the main should trip automatically...it didnt !!
the above chicken gravy can be made richer, by adding one or more of the following:
pastes of
poppy seeds
cashew
almonds
walnuts
peanuts
sesame seeds
chironji
cream
etc
oh dear....hope u can find out the source of the problem soon.
well, i leave you to ur recipes now and btw,had a pkt of mushrooms and tried ur rogan josh.it was good with chappatis.we enjoyed it :)
a best way to use up leftover chicken 65 and tandoori chicken pieces- turn them into gravy, ofcourse !! :P
jokes apart, adding fried chicken to the khorma, imparts a different taste...a must try !! :)
