Another recognition for ARR!
IndiaGlitz [Friday, September 04, 2009]
ARR’s fans are expecting the Hindi audio release of ‘Blue’ on September 12th and his long term project ‘Sultan - The Warrior’ is also expected soon. While people are looking forward for his future projects to do the magic again, he has received a new esteem for his ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.
Yeah, here comes another feather on the cap of our Mozart of Madras. The American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has made Rahman its primary member. The recognition is given on the basis of his achievement through the Golden Globe Award and the Oscars both for Danny Boyle’s ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.
So, ARR will fly to America every year to vote for his choice among the Oscars nominees. Moreover he will be receiving the red carpet honour throughout his lifetime!
Wow! Do we have to say how happy we feel for him? Jai ho ARR!
Is this news true? Oscar vaanginappa idhu maadhiri niraya kadhai vittanga
No. Its true that Oscar winners enjoy some privileges..
Yodha’ for a second part
IndiaGlitz [Saturday, September 05, 2009]
Continuing with the series of recent sequels, Mollywood will be offering another of its super hit for a second part. The 1992 hit movie ‘Yodha’ which featured Mohanlal and Madhubala and in fact, one of the first movies of AR Rahman will go in for the making of a second part by the next year. This new project will be directed by Sanjeev Sivan and will be made in Hindi, as well. Big names like AR Rahman, Richard Herrovites, Sreekarprasad, Santhosh Sivan and Sean Kerbey will team up for this thriller which will be produced by Network 18. The movie will be presented in 3D version also and will be shot at Nepal, New Zealand and parts of Kerala. The other details about the title of the project, and its cast and crew are awaited.
Interestingly the original movie was directed by Sanjeev's brother Sangeeth Sivan, who later turned out as a famous director in Bollywood.
Buzz is that national award for best music direction for the year 2007 has gone to Mr. Ouseppachchan for the movie 'Orey Kadal'. Not confirmed though..
ARR will be scoring music for this again? That's great! I read / heard from somewhere, that Harris Jayaraj would be the music director for "Yodha" sequel. :shock:Quote:
