Lovely post Plum. I had a very similar emotion as you when I discovered this a few days back. Lot of Suddha Saveri (and as you rightly point out, the 'Kadal Mayakkam' tinge) but still so very fresh as the morning dew. Been in a loop for the last two days and loving it more after each listen.

Usha,

I can understand Plum's situation when you start dealing with songs in movies like Alapana. Other than the song you had hosted, there are some more amazing songs in that movie. 'Aa Kanulalo', 'Aveshamanta' and Kalise Prati Sandyalo' (what a song!!) Each song deserves a big post of its own!!

Looks like it is inspired by the "sound of music" movie songs itself or the musical format. The charanam the woman sings does not sound like malayalam at all to me..

All IR telugu compns are too good, esp I love this Premichu Pelladu movie songs, 'Gopamma chetilo gorumudda', 'Nirantaramu', 'Ee chaitra veena jhum jhummani', 'vayyari Godaaramma'. all 4 songs by SPB and SJ only.

Lovely pick. A couple of weeks back ETV screened this song. I had this song with me but was not listening to it regularly. I mean, with thousands of songs of Raja around, how can listen to any one song regularly? :) After I saw this song on TV, it has been running in a loop for the last couple of weeks. What a wonderful flow the song has and how wonderfully SPB and Janaki have rendered it. Kudos to all those involved in this song.
