IMAX enhanced the experience multi fold, first movie in IMAX and what a grand one!
Liked it better than Dark knight :)
Oru madhiri pidichu pudikama irukkE.
Slight improvement in Action choreography btw. But still lacks impact of TDK, which I now think agrees well with chaotic universe of Joker and so on..
Biggest disappointment = the dialogue. Heavy and desperate. Alfred choking and teary-eyed, really?
Some improvement in side characters, how the genesis is rewritten. Why was Holly cut short, was it done in editing room?
And that twist is a joke for Batman universe. Is that really a twist?
Lot of pauses for the delayed Batman/Bruce Wayne moments, almost like Nolan wanted it for 'insert clap', so it was fun for the audience.
Zimmer rectifies himself in 2nd half. Too much intruding in 1st half.
This one is too much plot than TDK, which had better moments and better rhythm in 'oruthanku oruthan kadhula-poo'(Seems to be Nolan's MO throughout his filmography. It gets irritating when he plays that with the audience) plot twist and turns. And TDK has much more compelling major characters. In a way, this one takes itself less seriously, reduced to 'pain' as said. Alfred's major reveal isn't quite reflected on Wayne. What's the fun in physical confrontation ('fear of 'death' in the well was very very mild, Begins held tight on 'fear' in ways this one does not)? Apart from Nolan improving hand to hand combat choreography?
Hathway Cables is a huge turn-on in that outfit. Unpredictable as ever, she's still reduced to a one-note character. Thought they could have done a lot with Holly-Kyle, a borderline lesbian relationship. Kyle character-E purinjukka mudiyadhu-ngra madhiri end panni irukkOnum. Another divulge from Batman universe.
As for the 'rise' of the male sidekick, side to side, from Gordon's to Batman's, well done.
My review on TDKR. Quite a lazy one at that.
K_G  Nolar is becoming a summer-blockbuster director guy.. hopefully he comes back to his memento/prestige days.
