We, NT fans, whenever think about Trichy Prabhat and Madurai Sri Devi, automatically another theatre will come in our memory, that is Salem JAYA.
When talking about the record hold by Madurai Devi, I hope Trichy Prabhat also possesed such record (not sure).
Chennai Shanti lost the record to beat Madurai Devi, because of not screening Kulamaa Gunamaa. (It was screened in Plaza and ran more than 100 days). If KG was screened at Shanthi definitely it will be in lead because, except KG, all other four were released in Shanthi, and infact it has started from Raman Ethananai Ramanadi itself, 75 days before EngirundhO VandhaaL. (I hope when Babu was running in Madurai Sri Devi, Raja released and ran more than 100 days in Central).

exactly Murali sir. It is well known by most of the NT fans, his Birthday Celebrations were started to be clebrated from his 43rd Birthday on 1st October 1970, with grand function at Chennai. From that onwards, functions were celebarated in other major cities of TN for various reasons. 150th movie (Savaale SamaaLi) celebration at Trichy, 44th Birthday at Kovai, 175th film (Avanthaan Manithan) celebration at Madurai (but it was cancelled due to the arrest of Cong (O) leaders throught the country, because of emergency)Quote:

Likewise, when I was studying in Pachaiyappa's College, most of our friends would attend the college in the morning, then go to Shanthi, or Chithra to watch NT's films. At that time among the 172 arts and science colleges, almost 148 college students unions belonged to Sivaji Fans vis-a-vis Old Congress. It was really a golden period us and I feel it very much lucky now for having spent my days for NT. We have many such nostalgic memories.
