Hi pr,
Most salad dressings available commercially contain lots of fat in it... Check the nutrition lable for more info... If you have any specific dressing in mind, let me know...I can chk & tell u how healthy it is...
Most of the salads I make contains vegs like carrots, cucumber, boiled peas, sprouts, cooked kabuli channa, lettuce, cabbage, tomato, capscicum ,onions, cooked beetroot, cooked mashed potatoes, boiled eggs(whites only) etc...You can take any combination you wish or a single veg or dhal... & dressings would be mostly salt,g.chilles & lemon juice... I sometimes use tomato sauce or crushed pepper/soy sauce added to olive oil as dressing... Salads r purely your imagination...I've posted a sprouts & carrot salad recipe in sprots thread...chk it out...You can also add fruits like orange to the salad...
Here's another simple vegs salad... Chop onions, cabbage, carrots & capscium(very less) into thin long strips... ca add cucumber too... add salt, chilles & lemon juice...mix well & let sit in the fridge for around 2 hrs...serve chilled with any tandoori snack(tandoori chicken/vegs etc)...
Another of my fav is buttered vegs...boil some baby carrots orvertically sliced carrots ,tender beans, broccoli & any other vegs of your choice...add a tsp butter in a pan...add the vegs, salt, pepper(optional)...saute for a few secs on low flame...
true , cos it contains lot of salad creamQuote:
