Unless we talk about concrete stuff like box office and profitability, which again is a needless exercise esp. in this context of DM and MM.

Critically, historically, commercially, Thevar Magan is remembered more..Both commerical n masala filmmakers state that film is the best of all time.. with exception of few other films like Aboorva sagodarargal, Nayakan n Indian, no other film can satisfy both aspects..

I thought I was clear .. we are talking about quantities that cannot be measured unlike box office or profitability. So people can believe what they want wrt. the indices mentioned. Or can continue the flame like our friend shwas.

You are arguing like box office success = high regards. It is not true. For example, Indian made instant impact and was a runaway success but people don't care about it noW. Nayagan on the other hand was only a hit but people still lap it up.

Anyways going back to where we started, MM was an out an out Sivaji film and is a landmark film for him and the industry. It will also be watched by lot of Sivaji fans and general public more than DM would be.

Because most Sivaji fans are not on the net writing blogs to impress their internet friends. Lot of Kamal fans are on the internet and DM being a Kamal film, they would be talking more about it than MM. If you invite Sivaji fans into the discussion, you will see them talk about MM.
