Some people somehow gained entry in the preview and started commenting about NT even during the show was on. Since almost 99% were fans and more particularly our colleagues in the front row were waiting uncomfortably placed on the comments passed on by a few people in the row before them. In the Interval, those who made the comments fled the theatre on our friends' reciprocation - you can guess how. Thereafter none dared to come to the fans' preview in Chennai and those who came and commented did not fail to get the reciprocation from fans. But it was in 1992 at Albert Theatre which was very pathetic. In spite of the hero's and his fans' dominance, sarcastic comments were passed on about NT and the banners and stars put up by NT fans were torn and there was a chaos in the Theatre. Unfortunately our fans were victims and as usual the police rounded up Sivaji Fans. Later on after the intervention of office bearers from Mandrams, they could be brought on bail. They were punished for no fault of theirs. And this is the story not only at the Albert, but throughout Tamil Nadu. And unfortunately, in spite of a party of the ruling party at the Centre, Sivaji fans always felt the crunch. Whomever rules - DMK or ADMK or even Congress - there was and is nobody to back up the unfortunate Sivaji Fans. All through his career, Sivaji Fans have fought the battle on their own and triumped till now.

Raghavendran.
Dear raghavendran sir,
thank you very much for sharing your experiences with us.Even today after 8 years of his demise, NT has thousands of dedicated fans all thro' the world though he was not active either in politics or cinema in his last 10 years. This shows the dedication of his fans towards that great man.we don't need anyone's backup and as you have said in your site
With his company in our heart and soul, we shall reach great heights!
murali sir,
I think the next movie in your series may be VM. eagerly waiting for the most enjoyed NT film by majority of the fans
Joe,
Again good song selections by Mr.Vettipayal (!). Mr.Raghavan's comments are well written. Convey our thanks [If I am not mistaken, Mr.Raghavan is a old hubber of our forum, right?]
Your reply to Charu is nicely worded though I feel he doesn't need to be taken seriously. [Don't take his comments about his popularity in Kerala seriously].
Senthil,
There are certain things that cannot be discussed openly in our forum. The incident you had mentioned falls into such category.
Regarding VM, I will write shortly. But I have written about it already. It is not the Opening show but a show I watched in Chennai Abhirami in 2007. In case you have not read it, here it is

There was this new girl Sonam Kapoor who debuted with Saawariya and recently did Delhi 6. She had a stint in acting course in an institute at Singapore before doing her first film. During one of her calls to her home the following conversation took place it seems.
Sonam: Dad, How great is an actor called Sivaji Ganesan?
Her father Anil Kapoor taken aback initially as he never expected this asked her " Why suddenly you are asking me"?
The girl said that her institute as a part of their curriculam used to screen films from various languages and out of them, she found most number of Indian/South Indian films were Sivaji's.
Anil without answering her question asked back how did she rate him?
Pat came the reply " Though I could not follow the language, he was amazing with his versatility."
Anil then Anil told her about how great an actor NT is.
This was disclosed by Anil to Ramkumar during one of his trips to Chennai.
Just goes to show how even people in other languages look at him with awe.
Regards
Murali, though I dont rate Anil Kappoor high, and this adds nothing to the greatness of NT, I see the point you are making that for anyone approaching with an open mind, it is quite obvious the talent and range and achievement of Sivaji Ganesan.
Plum antha threadla ulla Soott(heat)odu ingga vathuteenggala? :D
I was impressed by the fact that they include NT in Singapore acting school. Bravo! Does Charu know that?
