Thank you Neel. This is one of my LVaidhyanathan favorites. Its a pity he did not get many opportunities , but he very well used whatever he did.

Song: aayiram malargaL
Film: sparisam
Singers : SPShailaja, Deepan Chakravarthy
Lyrics: Vairamuthu?
Music: Ravi
The only hit song from the one and only album by Ravi (of Shobana Ravi). It had SVsekar and kalaranjani in the lead and if i remember right, the film had a tragic end(same fate at the BO too)
Pudhu Padagan *ing Vijayakanth, Amala had quite a few good numbers by LVaidhyanathan though 'Kalaipuli' Thanu claimed the credits :)Quote:

Pudhu padagan, i believe has the song : aththai ponnu vaadi un manasa thaadi. POWil oru naal varum ena ninaikiren.
yvs: aththa poNNu vaadi is from pudhu paadagan!
I'm listening to this song after a long gap. Thanks Ramki.

Song: kaNNan naaLum
Film: iLamai kolam
Singer: SJanaki
Lyrics: Kannadasan
Music: iLaiayraja
An inspriring 'jurmana' became an insipid 'iLamai kolam'. Hrishikesh mukherjee 's version had terrific performances from all the three leads-amitabh, vinodh Mehra and Rakhee.
Suman, prathap and radkhika were no match to these 3.
The only aspect that was on par with the original was iLaiyaraja's music. All the four songs in IK were either equally good or better than the original('saawan ke jhoole' by LM and 'aaye sakhi raadhike' are noteworthy numbers from jurmaana).
Thanks Ramki for today's song. The essence of the beginning of the 1980s is brought out rather well by this song, I feel. Yes, all the 4 "Ilamai Kolam" songs are very good, without exception.
