Actually a few days back I read an article whose gist was if KI is based on PKS then it is doomed for disaster as it was going to recreate the crap that was PKS.

That was wrong at so many levels that I didn't know how to react.

Same same, PR. The thing is PKS is an obviously and cheerfully modest film, low production values (albeit with mandatory songs shot in foreign locations), no glitz and so on. And it didn't work at the box office either. So people find it easy to characterise it as "cheap" (which, in plain economic terms, it is). Nobody from the mainstream media would ever say something like this about a film like 'vEttaiyAdu viLaiyAdu' or 'pOkkiri'!

General knowledge 'ngRadhu ennamO ok dhAn. What irks me is that these TV channels put in all kinds of inane options as if to represent all kinds of uninformed or contradictory opinions that people have on homosexuality etc. And these folks often insist that they're not here "just to report" news, but also to put things in perspective! Why then chicken out and put options like "gays need to be reformed?" They can't get away with the "a lot of people think so" argument. A lot of people think secularism is a bit of nonsense too.
