Whenever i hear this song, my mind rewinds and goes for a flash back :P
I was in my 4th standard and it was just 20 days before the annual day.. i was summoned by my class teacher n science teacher.. they wanted me to dance for this song in the annual day along with one 'S' :evil: me n S were never in good terms as she was the one who always used to highlight my subtle mischiefs to the class teacher and score some browny points :x so i said no way :irked: but the teachers prevailed on my mum n dashed my defiance :( ( oru chinna paiyanukku evlo sodhanai :cry: )
next day onwards our training and rehearsals started.. it was just two of us for the song and not a group dance as in the film :evil:
S was learning bhartanatyam for close to a year then and hence dance movements came naturally to her unlike me :oops: :evil: but since it is a fast number, i used to make up for her movements with my speed.. whenever she made my life miserable with some difficult movements, i would make sure she slips n falls to the floor when we had cling our legs together and dance :oops:
finally the day arrived and until then i never knew that i have to wear the sardarji custome :cry2: i refused :twisted: but again i was prevailed upon.. i had to stick a beard made out of a sowrimudi :cry3: one mundaasu :cry: some touch ups on my eyes using a eyeliner :cry2: and she was wearing a gorgeous dress and grand ear rings :banghead: kadavule unakku karunaiye illaiyaa :cry: :cry2: :cry3: :x sari aanadhu aachu dance aadiduvomnu medai erinen :sigh2: edhu edhu kazhandu vizha pogudhonu vera bayam :shaking: but song start aana udane i went into a different energy level.. in between she was dancing some additional steps which was not taught in the rehearsals :hammer: and whenever she went over board on that, i stamped on her feet :evil: and in the last bit of music both of us had to increase the speed and put our hands together and rotate.. rotate pannumbodhu sema fasta rotate panni exactly when the light goes off and the screen comes down, i left her and she went tumbling down :( :P
after the song lot of parents came and appreciated both of us and asked me do that expression for "kannarugil penmai kudiyera...." stanza and kept giggling.. long time after that only i came to know the exact meaning of the lyrics :P and why the others laughed :evil: :evil:
