Here in Malaysia, they have a Government exam for the 12 year olds They have to sit for 5 papers.
5 A's means they have got top marks for all the 5 papers.
330 students sat for the exam in their school.
Only 60 students got all straight A's.

[tscii]Try this simple brinjal kulambu
BRINJAL KULAMBU
Ingredients:
300 grms brinjals chopped into cubes.
1 inch ginger minced
3 pips garlic chopped
4 shallots chopped
5 green chillies chopped
1 lime sized tamarind soaked in 3 cups of water
2 tsp sambar powder
1 tsp jiggery
Salt to taste
2 tsp oil
½ tsp mustard seeds
1 sprig curry leaves
To Roast And Powder:
1 tsp rice
¼ tsp fenugreek seeds
Little asafoetida
Method:
Heat a wok with the oil. add in the mustard seeds and curry leaves.
When the splutter, add in the chopped onions.
Sauté until they turn lightly brown.
Add in the garlic, ginger and green chillies.
Sauté for a minute.
Now add in the chopped brinjals and sauté for few minutes.
Add in the sambar powder and give a good mix.
Pour in the tamarind juice, salt and let it cook for about 10 minutes.
When the brinjals are cooked, add in the jiggery and the roasted powder.
Let it boil for a minute and remove.

K, Indha LF masala already post panni irukeenganu ninaikiren... I remember trying it once... anyway, no harm in repeating a recipe twice... Thanks for reminding me of this recipe... will try it again...:D

K, brinjal kulambu looks yummmmm!!! We make a similar dish sans the gin n gar... also we use kongu masala pwd in place of sambar pwd and add shredded coconut towards the end... will try ur method aswell...:) Brinjal + tamarind super combo... esp when had with rice+ ilai paruppu/uppu paruppu...
