True, the love portion of Thuppakki was there basically as a reason for song sequences. It'd be sad to see Samantha used like that.
I dont think so, ARM had been very good in giving short and sweet romantic portions in his films...... in Ghajini, the love flashback was the main reason for it's super hit, likewise in Dheena, Thuppaki etc., Ramana had no time for romance but it still had lovely love scenes (father-kid in flashback, uncle-kids in the main story).... 7th sense la mattum than konjam not-so-special ah irunthathu.... :)
One thing that has been repetitive in most ARM movies are the female leads are shown naive Dheena (laila), Ghajini (Asin), Ramana (Ashima Bhalle), Stalin (Trisha) and lately Thuppakki (Kajal)
I think on heroine part ARM lacks a bit. But its not just ARM many ace directors are doing it frequently.
