Except for the climax, movie is good and entertaining..quite and an easy role for dhanush...amira looks like sonam kapoor..content wise, anegan beats I..anban is right..

Just caught it at Rex Singapore. Thought Amyra looks like Nargis Fakhri. Audience went most crazy for Kali intro + song. Screenplay had some commendable twists & turns but a little predictable. Visually might be inferior to I but screenplay and script wins hands down here.
Someone earlier said Dhanush had a easy role. I agree. Shamitabh displayed Dhanush's acting chops significantly better. Karthik was spot on in his performance. Good on KVA to have thought of pulling Karthik in. Amyra is cute, and thankfully not annoyingly so. Did not watch Maattrran so can't compare but definitely better than I.
Dhanush Claims the movie as a blockbuster after 3 shows. ARM kooda ivar kitta nikka mudiyaadhu!

I think its been 20 years since KV Anand won the national award for cinematography... His father brought a small black and white TV so we (his tenants) could watch the award ceremony live :D He's now given up cinematography but the scenes shot in Myanmar ( was it all just Rangoon ?? ) are the highlights of the movie... the shots are composed so well- they look like poetry by themself..
background research on script and story( SuBa ?? ) , attention to details, casting etc... are all perfect as usual..
All the roles were a cakewalk for Dhanush, not much of a challenge for him, but I was so happy to see Karthik on screen again - what a meaty role for hi... have always beenn his fan since before college days ( donno how many times I've seen Varsham 16)... so delighted to see him at his casanova best.. Amyra suits the role - she's done well but lacks something....dont think she will make any impact in kollywood...
Harris shows his limitations... BGM was not that great (pretty awful ) in some places... songs made up for all that... couldnt hear a word of Dangamari at S2 theyagaraja... the guys in front and back rows were just screaming and whistling through out the Mari-Kalyani episode :D
Good entertainer.... but still lacked something... its not the length or songs or script... and I dont think I will let that bother me :)

Felt the movie thoroughly entertaining. K V Anand’s strong script and screenplay is the real winner. The script is complicated but Suba and K V Anand has done a great job of narrating it in a lucid way which only shows their sincerity and dedication. The movie also involves a pain staking research. The detailing is also amazing, During the 1987 episode, a newspaper’s banner was showing the incident of a sri lankan cop attacking Rajiv Gandhi. In the very next scene, when the sales tax officer was taken to hospital in a car, an English daily was shown with the same incident.
It’s not a challenging role for danush and it’s a cake walk for him but Karthik was the one who impressed me a lot. He has got an excellent character and he does 200 percent justice to it. What a talented actor. Hope to see him in many movies and hope this movie would serve as a platform for his re entry. They could have chosen an experience lady lead for the character instead of Amyra. Definitely She looks good and has performed well but kinda gives a feel that she lacks the charisma to carry such a meaty role.
After a long time, good music from Harris. Almost all the songs are likeable and the BGM was OK’ish. As the knots started to unfold, we could quickly guess the villan that’s the only negative I felt but since the story was moving in a rapid pace, it doesn’t matter much. The locations were really great and the first 30 minutes were totally poetic.
Overall, Anegan is an out and out pop corn entertainment and one cannot ask for more. This should be a big win for K V Anand.
Good masala film after a long time. But this SuBa - KV Anand have a penchant for using drug related plot devices as a cause of the root conflict. Ayan had cocaine related to smuggle goods, Maattraan had the whole energy drink fiasco, etc..
Dhanush as usual good, but it's Amrya that surprised me. Never expected a heroine in TC to get a good scope and act as a mouth piece to carry story forward. But it's Karthik that was the best. After "I", am noticing 80-90s yesteryear heroes becoming main villain. New trend in TC in coming films?
But in terms of execution, song placement exhausts a little and Anand needs work on that. Far better than "I" as a psychological thriller.

The movie was a very good movie to watch. Its a dream role for Dhanush, he gets to play different characters, and in all characters he shines through. I was bit sceptic when saw heroine for the first time. How possible is it for girls in chennai to be that white in that sun? She had a meaty role in her debute, further more she is a debutant, so we could watch the movie without linking her to other south movies. Navarasa Nayagan didnt dissapoint, finally I see him in a role that I havent seen him in before, kudos to KV Anand to find apt characters for the movie: Asish Vidyarthu, Mukesh Tiwari, Thalaivaasal Vijay, Aishwarya Devan etc. The director made very good job, he slipped in Maatran but he came back with a bang.
Harris Jeyaraj must be double delighted, two of his movies released within 8 days. The songs are great, esp Dangamaari, the feets are starting to dance in a beat, as soon as the song begin. His BGM is much better in this movie.
I would say this movie is the best movie that has been released this year so far. I hope to watch more tamil movies with different screenplays and different ideas from the directors.

Excellent performance by the Veteran Karthik! This is probably his first negative (full fledged) role after Nallavanuku Nallavan. Had he chosen such roles in 2000 , he would have been in one of the top actors list!
