Behold Sony photography awards shortlisted entries. Breathtaking stuff.
Thanks for sharing. Each entry is a gem except "notworthy: except "Human study: Two men dressed western costumes in Tabernas, Almeria, Spain are the subjects of this thought-provoking image". Whats so special in that snap comparing the other beautiful ones? I would like to know!

Thanks Dilbert for the HDR tutorials. So, how many shots should be (automatically) taken with different exposures and contrast to make it a HDR. Is three exposure is always enough? I think the software processes all these seperate images and merges into a HDR one, if I am not wrong.
Sathya, great snaps, I really loved the take-off ones (first, second and fifth), sixth one, just like that goose is replying to you.
V_S , HDR (Hight Dynamic Range) Images are mainly use to enhance elements which you will miss in your regular single shot.
To your question Its up to the user how many you want to include for 1 HDR.(example : friend of mine used like 8-9 pics for shooting Vatican City at Nite)
However when you use AEB option you will get 3 pics , which is good enough for creating HDR.
Thanks again Dilbert for the details.
Sathaya good pics - just a suggestion use Ai Servo on Canon aka continuous mode in Nikons to get better results when you are shooting a moving object(s). Another trick which ofcourse we learnt during college days.. Keep your sight active on the expected path of your object (aka comeon) ahead of time. This is will provide you with some really great views aka shots.. which you would missed it otherwise by chasing them ...;-)
You are spending money copyrighting these pics?
Thanks Dilbert! That's what I learnt this weekend - anticipation of the motion path, burst mode and shoot range. Let me try these out this weekend :)

Ok guys . get your gear out..its hunting time , 5 planets will be visible during sunset and sunrise.. around Feb 23- 25. I have zero hopes in my area given cloudy / snow / rainy weather..
Any recommendations for good backpack which can hold 2 bodies, 5-6 lenses (one 400 or 500 mm lens), tripod, laptop and other accessories. I had a look at Kata 467i which is pretty reasonable for my budget.
Suggestions and inputs are welcome (Only back-packs)
lots of post-processing involved, I guess

Could be, you may never know :) Software capabilities are exponentially growing, so, anything is possible
Good stuff Sathya go for it, initially when you are learning you will be carrying too many lenses :) , but once you start understanding your lenses you will carry only the lenses that are needed for the subject. Also more important changing lenses in dust / moisture filled atmosphere is dangerous for both Camera and lenses all it takes is few seconds between changing lenses. you need to pay some serious attention, carry a camera cover buy a cheap one atleast. You get your thanga mani worth , if it saves your gadgets from even 1 rain.
Welcome to the most addictive ,expensive hobby :)
Thanks Dilbert Bro! Now only realizing how addictive and expensive it is  I wanted to stop at around $1200, now, I feel it would be ever expanding expense :)
No more budget allocated for me! But please suggest a cheap and durable tripod for Nikon D5100! I will try to pass this bill at home ministry to get sanctioned. Thanks.
If you are a Young man ! with study hands like me ;-) . you can pick mono pod for 15$ tops on Fleebay good ones. For more serious stuff

:notworthy:
Venkkiram , english please.. ! :-)
Beautiful colors and reflections of natural and artificial lights on water and land
