The trend, that started with*Ghajini, has seen numerous films like*3 idiots, Dabanng, Houseful, Ready and more hit the bull's eye. Now it looks like the trend may have started in Kollywood with Thuppakki.This Pongal turned sweet for Vijay as he is the second person, after Superstar*Rajinikanth, to join the Rs 100 crore club. As the trade is buzzing with this news, the actor is happy too. Says Vijay, "I never look at numbers but my producer and distributors kept updating me on how well the movie was doing and its collections. I am very happy that it crossed the Rs 100 crore mark. This will set the ball rolling for other films in the industry and the movie business here will boom for sure."With this flick, director A R Murugadoss becomes the first-ever Kollywood director to enter the Rs 100 crore league in Bollywood and Kollywood. Ask him if he knew the movie would do well and he says, "At the beginning of the film itself, we had decided it should be a flick that appeals to both mass and class and that it should be the highest grossing Vijay film. Luckily the festival season also helped us. Since the audience's expectations were fulfilled, the movie crossed a Rs 100 crore."
