^IPL star in the making
declaration after 100 overs.. so it is england's batting for the next 100 overs
Last evening's telecast of WI v/s Aus 3rd ODI (that eventually ended in a dramatic tie) on Ten Cricket didn't seem to have any commentary. I tuned in for about 30mins when Aus were finishing their innings and heard only the stadium and ambient noises. Felt very strange, was almost like watching a silent movie. Technical fault or cost-cutting?
Bell continuing his form from Dubai to SL
Bell loves Ceylon Tea , it seems :lol2:
Andrew Strauss and Jonathan Trott both made centuries as England's top-order warmed-up for their Test series against Sri Lanka with an impressive performance against a Development XI in Colombo :lol2:
James: "In the last 2 years Australia have won the toss 24 times and this is only the 3rd time they've decided to field. It's pretty much ingrained in the Australian psyche to win the toss and bat."
Whatya power hitting  world heavyweight boxing championship paartha effect-u
Brett Lee - Un velaya mattum paaru  ... West indies itha thothingana kadupagiruvaen.
40.6 Roach to Lee, SIX, he connects again with another almighty thrash, flat-batting a six over deep midwicket. Lee the gunslinger is going to go down in a blaze! That's 24 off the over! 40.5 Roach to Lee, no run, Roach hits back with a bouncer and Lee is forced to curtail his aggression 40.4 Roach to Lee, SIX, this time his picks up the ball and deposits it back over long-on! That was a ferocious hit, a huge windmilling swing of the arms and the ball flies over the boundary 40.3 Roach to Lee, FOUR, three in a row! Roach is striving for the yorker but it's not quite full enough and Lee spears it through cover. He's taking out his frustrations from Roach's last over 40.2 Roach to Lee, FOUR, shot! pitched up again and Lee steps back to blammo a four through extra-cover 40.1 Roach to Lee, FOUR, full, quick and Lee inside-edges to the fine leg rope for four
SA going strong. Series win likely.
Bang coach credits BPL for their showing in Asia cup..same story was floated after IPL..will the tables turn again when their test performance comes up for a review..same blood

Swann the blondie - PR Out it check.
With SA looking likely only for 1-0, England's crown is secure for atleast another 7 months. Not that it is insecure afterwards - they just have to keep SA at bay at home (easy) and beat India in India(jujubee against a team and cricket culture that doesn't value Test matches). Infact Sachine solliyaachu World Cup is the biggest thing idhukku mEla nAn achieve paNNa oNNum illainu. Jai ho England. I very happy :lol2:
England playing Monty, Swann and Samit Patel  enna dhairiyam.
Versus Herath, Randiv, Dilshan
btw this Philander is dealing only in five-fors I say
Wait a minute for two minutes, innum England bat pannalala..
Btw Philander is just fantastic.. 45 wickets in 6 matches with 2 10WM and 5 5WM and with 13.60 as bowling average.
England  . Bearding Lanka in their den  - its simple: what is the least expected outcome before the series is happening. 4-0 was never talked of before india's 2 recent tours. 3-0 was in nobdy's mind before England's uae tour. Likewise, is it too early to talk about 2-0 for England here? Or 1_1 even. I bet nobody was talking about these 2 eventualities confidently before the series - not even the rabidly optimistic British press.
Has anyone else reached 50 wickets in 7 tests?
//digression.
I didn't know Philander was a common name.
I had a prof. called Philanderer; was taken aback when I heard his name and we used to laugh about it.
Is there a biblical character who was known for philandering or something like that?

Madhusudhanan Paneer Selvam's fielding Skills Continues :lol2:
assuming england cleans up the tail in the 1st 15 mins tommorrow, still 300 is a competitive score considering england needs to bat last in this pitch.. unless england can pile up a 400+ in the 1st innings
Cook - century, Strauss - back to form, Trott - steady and reliable; he can play the patience game needed in Lankan pitches in sleep; Kevin - itching to kill lankan spinners; Bell - Selvey assures he is in great nick but just getting out;in for a big score Prior - reliable; samit, Swann, Broad - as good a tailas you can get. So, 400? England should aim for 500 and innings win.
