Here is another simple recipe by Sumithra. It's nice for a change from normal dosai.
Thanks, Kugan98
SEMIYA DOSAI
Ingredients:
1 cup roasted semiya
½ cup rice flour
1 cup curds
½ cup water
1 green chillie chopped
1 sprig curry leaves chopped
1 tbs coriander leaves chopped
Salt to taste
2 tbs onion chopped
2 tbs grated carrot.
Oil
Method:
In a bowl, add the curds and water, mix it nicely.
Add in the salt, curry leaves and coriander leaves.
Add in the semiya and the rice flour. Mix throughly.
Leave it aside for 30 minutes and mix it in intervals.
By now the semiya would have absorbed the liquid and become thick.
Add little water if the batter is very thick.
Lastly before making the dosai, add in the onions and carrots.
The batter will become orange in colour if you add the carrot first.
Heat a dosai kal and pour a laddle full of the batter.
Use your back of the laddle and spread into a circle.
This dosai will be little thick. Pour some oil around the dosai.
After the dosai is cooked, flip it over and cook the other side.
Serve hot with chutney.
