Naaz, I have "vaLLuvan kuRaLil" by MLS&SJ with me. Just a couple of days ago I listened to another song on the radio which may be another duet by MLS&SJ. It goes something like "mottu virinthathu mullai malarnthathu siriththEn... udal silirththEn". But I dont have this song with me.

I happened to watch Thudikkum karangaL and wondered who the MD was, since there were MSV- and IR-type songs in it. Megam mundhAnai has a MSV touch, especially where the male goes "vAnam ennum kumari poNNU..." the MSV equivalent being "ennaikkum needhanadi enakku poNdAtti". There was one more number which reminded me of the MSV number "Imayam kandEN .. pon thottil kattum nEpaLathin ..." Still there were enough nonstandard musical elements (in the sense of not being from either of the musical stalwarts) which made me wonder if the music was by a non-regular TFM MD (like Manoj Gyan etc). Now I know it is by SPB. I love the mEgam mundhAnai song.

I had totally forgotten this cute song until a couple of weeks back. As soon as i started listening to it i was able to sing the full song. This was tiruchi and kovai vaanolis favorite and mine too. Vaalis vairamuthuvish lyrics combined with Vijay Anands music makes it a pleasant one. And ofcourse SPB sings it in his usual casual way.

KOK ,Visu's another flop movie had Prabhu(dual role),Rekha,Madhuri etc. Not sure about the story line but Vijayanand came with 3 good songs..todays pick, 'oruvanukku oruthiyena'(VJ, chitra) and one more song with MV,JC and Visu.

As far as i know VA did only 2 films: 'naan adimai illai' and KOK. Both had good songs but unfortunately he did not get many offers.Was he the MD for 'sannidhi pookaL'? FM?:)

Yes sanidhi pookaL MD is by VA. It had few good songs.

Thanks for the nice song Ramki. The song is trying to convey some story and serious emotions though the arrangement (mis)leads you to believe that this may be a happy song. Nice work!

I think Vijay Anand also composed music for Oorukku Upadesam (sounds like a Visu title). It had the seductive number "tharavA nAn thara vA" by VJ. We talked about this song at length in VJ thread.
