Uttama Villain trimmed a day ahead of its release
A day ahead of its worldwide release on May 1, Kamal Haasan-starrer Tamil drama Uttama Villain has been trimmed, as per an industry source.
"The original running time was 172 minutes. The makers have trimmed it by a few minutes as they felt the movie is too lengthy," said a source.
The source added that the trimmed version is likely to be played only in Tamil Nadu, while the rest of the world may watch the original version.
Directed by Ramesh Aravind, the film is the story of a superstar, played by Haasan himself.
Kamal will also be seen as an 8th century theatre artiste in the film, which features an ensemble cast of Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah, Parvathi Nair, Urvashi, K Balachander, K Vishwanath, Nasser and MS Bhaskar.

Only two movies this year that touched nearly 3 hours of length were I and Yennai Arindhaal.
I was the worst from second half onwards and the makers never bothered to trim unnecessary portions. Theva illama drag pannitan. YA could've trimmed more to make it more racier in second half.
Hoping UV doesn't drag on like Aalavanthaan did in between portions. Fingers crossed.
I see almost all our hubbers have tickets for some show tomorrow.
Just curious who would be the first hubber here to view the movie? Considering the first show is at Dubai / Gulf at 10:30PM which is 7 hours from now.
