Some attribute this to a different composer.
This rendition has only a few lines . Complete version is available in youtube.
Search for " Mahishasura Mardini Stotram".
One college in Madras used to ask the students to recite this stotram.
Here is a compostion (single line) in Sanskrit ‘Amba tava padaMbhoja’ from the film ‘Hamsageethe’.
Composer is Dr. M Balamuralikrishna. Many websites are wrongly mentioning as Muttuswamy Dikshithar.
Back ground music is by Shri B V Karanth/T G Lingappa/M Balamuralikrishna (Karnatic style of music in the movie).
Venkatasubbayya (Anant Nag) had to mortgage ragas Kalyani and Bhairavi to get 1000 gold coins to reach the call-girl Chandrasaani.
During his stay with Chandrasaani, he never used these two ragas in his concerts even in Kings court-yard.
Somehow his uncle came to know this and he will release the mortgage by paying the debt without the knowledge of Venkatasubbayya.
And the release note/letter is passed on to Venkatasubbayya through Chandrasaani.
After so many years of break, he will sing Raga bhairavi with profound joy.
rAga: bhairavi

Once Tippu Sultan wants to listen the singing of Bhairavi Venkakatasubbayya. He will ask Venkanna to sing in his presence. But Venkanna refuses his request saying he will sing only at temples in front of God. And Sultan orders to cut his tongue for not obeying his request, immediately he changes his mind and gave him one day time to think off and decide.
But Venkanna next day morning after praying in the temple infront of deity, he wil cut his tongue himself. The Sultan himself was present in that crowd as an ordinary man to listen to the singing of Venkanna and repentence for his cruel order.

Here is another version of ‘vadasi yadi kinchadapi’ (Ashtapadi) from the film ‘Hamsageethe’, sung by Shri BMK.
Venkanna was inspired to sing this after prayer and lunch (traditional way) at Chandrasaani’s house.

Ragamaligai.
Here is one Sanskrit song (single line) from the film ‘pApa puNya’ 1971.
Sung by Shri Sirkali Govindarajan and Leelavathi. Music is by Shri Padmacharan.
Song: ‘Shreeshaila shikharam drushtva punarjanma na vidyate’ gives meaning that ‘One who sees the gopuram of Sri Sailam temple; he/she is relieved of rebirths and gets salvation’.
But the film based on a folk story, makes it clear that ‘Though there are crores of devotees in this world, only few good people are eligible for salvation’. Lord Shiva, goddess Parvathi and Nandi have taken human form to test people at Srisailam, and find one call girl (Saroja Devi) is eligible for salvation though she is prostitute.
Song starts with description about Shreesailam, after the Sanskrit line (within 2 minutes) continues with Kannada song (Tile cards of the film)
