Recently watched nAduvAzhikaL...what an actor!
Sad to hear this news :-(
Sad to hear about the demise of one of the finest actors in Malayalam Film Industry. He was always in the news. Few months back he was unfortunately involved in a road accident too.
I like him in Kilukkam, KShatriyan, Chanakyan, Kireedam & Indian Rupee.

this is like sivaji ganesan dead for malayalam movies - sad that they have treated him in a way thamizh cinema guys wouldnt dare treat Sivaji.
So this is more like Thilagan going off to the only place deserved for him - Heaven.
Problem with malayalam movie world is the small size of the pond where all the big fishes have to inhabit, with their own insecurities....
Definitely will miss him for his majestic presence...
RIP...Thilakan' death is a huge loss to the malayalam industry....A gem of an actor....Watched indian rupee again just a week back and now to learn that he's gone is a little shocking
Thilakan -an excellent actor, sad that he is no more.. RIP .
Yeah, but the difference is there were people in Malayalam film industry who still offered him some meaty roles in the last, say 15 years. Stars were not in good terms with him but that did not stop the producers from making him play such wonderful characters. Indian Rupee with Prithviraj, Ustad Hotel with Mamoooty's son and a couple of movies with Mohan Lal all came out after his bitter fight with the stars. During NT's final 15 years, he was awarded Chevalier and might have attended a dozen felicitation functions but acted in craps like Poo Parikka Varugirom and Mannavaru Chinnavaru. :-) I saw even this Thilagan in a spectacular Tamil movie, starring Jithan Ramesh and Namitha...:bangcomp:
Big diff is NT was plagued by various illness that kinda made it impossible for him to act in strenuous and meaty roles. Thilagan's problems were admittedly self made - but look around - there are not many in MF to take on thilagan's mantle. The credit must be given to the new wave malayalam film makers who have stolen the thunder from the big two actor's coterie and have broken new grounds where a performer like thilagan can actually shine with ease. however those years when thilagan was waging a war with the establishment and silly unions in malayalam film world, were a big loss for many of his fans.
