If it was indeed true that Mani was trying to get Raja and Rahman to score for the same movie, I can only try and guess what Mani would have been smoking. Given that he had a taste of the 'royal' medicine, to even think this way means you are too optimistic or something has come unhinged. With no disrespect to anyone, I cannot see the logic here except in the business sense. Musically Raja definitely would be believe that he is a complete composer and hence would need no collaboration to 'add value' to his music!!! This is my personal view. (To be fair, I think Rahman's fans may also feel the same about Rahman's music)
