Surya and Jyothika have become proud parents of a baby girl today at 9.22 pm (Friday, Aug 10). Jo underwent a Caesarean, at the Apollo hospital in Chennai.

This confirms reports that the couple wanted the baby to be born today, on an Aadi Velli, a very auspicious day according to Tamilians.

In fact Surya had completed the schedule of his Hari directed Vel in south Tamilnadu and was in Chennai by the side of Jyothika for the last few days.

Last week, Jyotika gave birth to a baby girl at a private hospital in Chennai. Since the delivery was by Cesarean section, she stayed on in hospital for a couple of days.

Surya told reporters this morning that Jyotika and her child are doing well and will go to her mother's house after 3 months.

Sivakumar had already announced that his grand daughter was born under Punarpoosam star and a name starting with D would be apt. Surya told reporters, "You must all be eager to know the name of the child. We have named her Diya."

actually,
this audio release was planned to take place in a star hotel.but, it took place in thalaivar's house.. he was suffering from fever then, so surya and hari came to the temple for darisanam
