remember the aananda vikatan revuu for agni natchithram - carry torchlight to theatres :rotfl: i must say thats just a popular conception which is pretty shallow.....agni natchithram had lots of scene where it was very bright.....the first face-off scene between prabu and karthik had too much of light - onniyum theriyaadhu :lol:

Karthik's intro. Blinding light straight from the sun. Karthik's name is called out. He enters the frame blocking the sun and suddenly our sight is restored. Then he exits the frame and we are blind again.

I love the excessively lit scenes. When Karthik and friends here of Prabhu's appointment. The news is broken in the open park in daylight. sutteRikkum veyyil. The post-threat scene when Umapathi orders the hit on Vijayakumar. He stands in front of the car's headlights with his silk white bouncing off the light even more.

Of course the film had a lot of well-lit 'natural' scenes. The lighting in the indoor scenes in the house in mAmbalam, the scene where Vijakumar drinks when it is raining. The lonely rickshaw in a road lit only by sodium vapour lamps. Wonderfully natural.

Of course the climax is just ecstatic and brilliant. PC and MR were having a field day. adhu vEra vishayam.

Don't bother rushing to watch this one. You can take your time, this will run for a while.

Instead of getting what little money they had - though well below what the situation/life demands - Charlie tries (and succeds) in gambling it up to what is asked of him. It is too late.

Temperament difference, blame game etc. Establishing the discord seemed a little underdone althought the flashback itself was disproportionately senti.

ellAm nallA thAn irukku, aanaa.... OK, as long as I cant put a finger on it I'll say this - I liked the movie for the most part. Lovely acting (this drove the movie for me). I especially likes Tashi, he manages to pull of the unaccented english really well.
