The movie by Director Lingusamy ‘Paiyaa’ is the most expected movie today for many reasons. The film industry is depending on Paiyaa to revive its fortunes this year. As things go the movie is getting bigger and bigger ever day.
Now the movie has become even bigger and better. Dayanidhi Azhagiri of the sensational Cloud 9 Movies told Indiaglitz this afternoon that his company has taken over ‘Paiyaa’ film. Cloud 9 is the current sensational production house having released the only super hit of the year so far, ‘Thamizh Padam’. Soon after the success of Thamiah Padam they announced ‘Thoonga Nagaram’. And now ‘Paiyaa’.
The magic touch of Cloud 9 Movies started with Varanam Aayiram in 2008 and now at a crucial time when the industry is groping in the dark for real hits there couldn’t be anything better than Cloud 9 handling the affairs of ‘Paiyaa’ now. Paiyaa stars Karthi and Tamanna in lead roles.

An excellent interview of Thamarai by Baradwaj Rangan(soe avasiyam pArkaNum :-) ).
I dont have the link as the site is banned in aluvalagam.
One of the interesting snippets is that she says she wrote karka karka based on her revolutionary/naxalite husband, not Kamal :-).
Several other peeks into an interesting mind.

‘Pudhumai Virumbi’ Sasikumar’s New film
Sasikumar has completed the first schedule of the film he is directing after ‘Subramaniapuram’. The team will later be in Bangalore for the second schedule. Third schedule will be in Hyderabad.
Meanwhile we get news of clarification saying the hero of the film is not A L Azhagappan as reported in some media but the real hero is Vaibhav. A L Azhagappan plays an important role here. This film will be a special film for Vaibhav also as he is doing his first film out side Venkat Prabhu campus.
Abhinaya is playing the heroine opposite Vaibhav. Mumbai girl Aparna is being introduced as the second heroine in the film. As usual Sasikumar’s best friend Samuthirakani is doing a major role that of a police officer.
So what is the name of the film? ‘Pudhumai Virumbi’ Sasikumar says he will announce the title of the film only at the audio launch function. Now when is that?

Thank you Plum for the pointer to the Thamari interview!
I used to wonder why I have this feeling that Thamarai looks very familiar - "எங்கேயோ பாத்திருக்கோம்" - feeling. Now I know that she lived / worked in Cbe during a period when I was visiting the city almost once / twice a week :-) She does look like a typical Cbe middle class lady!
Samantha is a big fan of Trisha
IndiaGlitz [Tuesday, March 09, 2010]
“Trisha is extremely talented and experienced. She is one of my favourite actresses and I am a big fan of her,” says Samantha, the leading lady of ‘Ye Maya Chesave’, the Telugu version of ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaya’.
Saying a big no to reports which claimed she wanted to outdo Trisha, the young actress says, “I wasn’t mad to attempt such things. How could I overdo a senior like Trisha? Her performance in ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaya’ was simply superb,”
Adding more, she says, “I did what the director (Gautham Vasudev Menon) wanted me to do. He was very very encouraging. Also, sharing screen space with Naga Chaitanya was a delight since he was very friendly.”
On her background, Samantha says, “Though I am a Telugu-Malayalee, I don’t even know a word of Telugu. We speak Tamil and English at home. As a result, I had great difficulty to mug up the dialogues. But everything went on well and the final result is awesome.”
