I watch @least one movie a day. I watch @ least 3 NT a week. I just watched Aalayamani now. To be honest I dont like NT family oriented B/w movies. But after seeing these thread iam addicted. I purchased this movie becoz my mom said it will be gud.
while watching the movie I was clapping much to the dismay of ppl in my house.
1Few scenes deserve mention:
NT wearing coat(Opening scene) Trademark of a multimillionaire
2. Tennis match (Poramai scene of NT on verge of losing the match)
3.Seeking apology from SSR becoz unknowingly hurt him (calling him as horseman)
4.Solving Saroja devi sister's problem(Just 25 pieces of paper for 25000/-) Tops the list. Swept me off my feet. A sense of pride, rich attitude Wow.
5.Blackmailing MR Radha since MR radha cheats Nagaiah
6. Love scenes with Saroja Mam. Decent 2 the core(Present day actors kindly take note)
7.On knowing that he has become lame ( crying & laughing @ same time) (how do he makes us feel acting is easy)
8. On seeing the wheel chair NT becomes Desperate & calls SSR as Mandhiri,Saro Mam as Rani to make him sit on wheel chair.
9.He breaks out on seeing his estate employees
10.He writes will on his friend & his fiancee. he asks his lawyer (keep it confidential with super style smoking a cigarette)
11.His grey shade of character shows out when he susillpects SSR & Saro)
List is endless
I hereby recommend to all NT detractors (Who says he overacts ) to watch this movie as you will find definition of subtle acting. No overaction, No action scenes but this movie sustains. NT can act in any kind as per story.
No doubt MGR congratulated Director shankar that he had become a hit director (On the morning of movie release )

Dear Rahul,
Neyveli people needs no introduction as intelligence is oozing and proving the point.As you mentioned Alayamani is one of the best NT movies with difference in Form and content with adequate melodrama to appeal to masses.The movie had lot of shocking elements for the traditional Tamil Viewers but as usual Brilliant portrayal by NT and a good story based on a Hollywood fick by G.Balasubramaniam,Good direction and editing by K.Sankar and ofcourse MSV TKR music treat made the movie highly successful .The heroine opening scene itself is a duet with second hero and heroine talking about infatuation,Dual personality of the protogonist filled with envy,desire , pride&Possessive on one side and forgiving,magnanimity and helping nature on other side ,it is a psychedelic trip.One of the finest of our acting God.
On the flip side,too many dialogues in chaste Tamil and loud expressions(Blood donation scene) gave it a old look.
According to me,this movie could have been in the league of andha Naal with little more polish.
By the way ,it is remade in Hindi and moderately successful.Though Dilip is more polished and subtle,he is nowhere near our NT.
Actually,my humble opinion is that Dilip cant even compete with MGR.If someone talk abt Dilip in the league of our NT,it is the best comedy of our Era.

Let me complete the mission as per your direction. I love Vijay more than myself.My son Vijay and ofcourse the character who made me name him so.There is nothing great in the story of Deiva Magan (Source Bengali) and Mani osai got released in 1963 had a similar story line.But the central point of the movie is the guilt-ridden father,abandoned son and innocent mother.There is no room or scope for anyone else other than a friend Character(Doctor).At the most,a filler character is required for relief in this story with duets and little comedy which can be considered for harmless actors like Sasikumar,Sivakumar,srikanth or initial days kamal and it would have got buried in the four major characters and unnoticed by the viewers.
Today,you ask any Tom ,Dick and Harry who has seen the Film and ask which character stays in their memory?? 101 out of 100 will answer Vijay.
Here come our God of Acting.What a magic?My god,an ordinary spoilt rich brat ,mother's boy character getting noticed is different, but coming in the league of U.P,VPKB,P.M,P.P,Karnan,U.M,Gowravam.............. .Wah!I dont have words for this god, and What an imagination?What an Execution?What an energy level?
My goodness....what to write man?
This character is not only lovable,but a new sivaji out and out who cant be seen later or earlier and went to Oscar on the strength of this performance.Other characters like Karnan,Thiruvilayadal,Pudia Paravai,Uyarntha manithan had an inherent potential and strength in the script to exploit and NT exploiting it to his calibre is no wonder.But this character is insignificant in the script and has to compete with two strong characters portrayed by the greatest actor(Sivaji,Sivaji) in the world and the weakest Character in the script pitted against two greats?But our Vijay not only won with thumping margin but made us to talk only about him in that movie now.
1)Vijay Character is a spoilt brat who trusts everyone on phase value,high handed and believes he knows all but not innocent but naive because of his protected upbringing.
2)Mother's boy,stylish but little effeminate mannerisms and have a conditioned relationship with his father(formal).
3)Not highly emotion -ridden and little playful.
Walking on the edge of the knife??
What we got is an out and out enjoyable lover boy and the comedy element in it comes so naturally(Aroor das has done a great Job)and every mother will pine for such sons!!
1)Vijay getting up from the bed and his subsequent sweet nothings with mother and a tryst with his Dad.
2)When he found someone in his room hidden,his half-hearted courage with anxiety-ridden caution dessolving into child like fear.
3)His expression of boredom and jealosy when his girl-friend mentions abt some other man.
4)When he gets his girl-friend home to discuss his love and introduce his intended fiancee to his Dad using mother as shield.
5)Final scene ,when he realises his friends' betrayal and after a childish encounter ,head liya adiche?and falling unconscious-
I dont get tired of this genius .My devotion for him grows day by day in geometric progression.

கடந்த 4 நாட்களாக வெளியூரிலிருந்ததால் பதிவிட முடியவில்லையென்றறாலும் பதிவுகளைப் பார்த்தேன்.
திரு.பம்மலாரின் பொக்கிஷங்கள், திரு.வாசுதேவன் அவர்களின் புகைப்பட வரிசைகள் அருமையாக இருந்தது.
பழகிய முகம், ஆனால் திரிக்குப் புதிய வரவாக வந்திருக்கும் திரு.கோபால் அவர்களே வ்ருக.
நாகர்கோவில் வசந்தம் திரையரங்கில் 8-4-2012 அன்று நடிகர்திலகம் சிவாஜி சமூகநலப்பேரவை சார்பில் கர்ணன் திரைப்பட 25-வது நாள் விழா நடைபெற்றது.

அன்பு நண்பர்களே!
பொதுவாகவே எனக்கு ஒரு ஆதங்கம் உண்டு. நடிகர் திலகத்தின் சில நல்ல படங்கள் அசந்தர்ப்பமாக, துரதிருஷ்டவசமாக தோல்வி அடைந்து விடும் போது மனம் மிக வருத்தப்படும். படம் நன்றாக இருந்தும் காலம் தாழ்ந்து வரும் போது ஜனங்களின் ரசிப்புத்தன்மை மாறிவிட்டது என்ற போலியான குற்றச்சாட்டு சுமத்தப்பட்டு இதுபோன்ற படங்கள் படுகுழியில் தள்ளப்படும். நம் ரசிகர்கள் மத்தியில் கூட இது போன்ற அற்புத படங்கள் எடுபடுவதில்லை.
நேற்று இந்தப் படத்தை மறுபடி முழுவதுமாகப் பார்த்தேன். நடிகர் திலகத்தைப் பார்த்து மீண்டும் பிரமித்துப் போனேன். அப்படிப்பட்ட சாந்தமான நடிப்பை வாரி வழங்கியுள்ளார் அவர். என்ன ஒரு தேஜஸ் அவர் முகத்தில்!. அப்படியே ஒளி வெள்ளம் வீசுகிறது அவர் ஹரிச்சந்திர மன்னனாக வரும் போது. சோகமும் துன்பமும்,கண்ணீரும்,கம்பலையுமாய் வெட்டியானாக வரும் போது அப்படியே உருமாறிப் போய் கண்களில் சோகத்தைத் தேக்கி அவர் அந்தப் பாத்திரத்தின் தன்மையை நூறு சதவிகிதம் நம் கண்கள் முன் பிரதிபலிக்கிறாரே, அவ்வளவும் விழலுக்கிறைத்த நீராய்ப் போய் விட்டது என்று எண்ணும் போது வருத்தப் படாமல் இருக்க முடியவில்லை.
நம்மிலும் பெரும் பாலோனோர் இந்த மாதிரிப் படங்களைப் பற்றியும் பேசுவதில்லை. தயவு செய்து யாரும் தவறாக எண்ண வேண்டாம். நான் யாரையும் குற்றம் கூறவில்லை.
நாம் பெரும்பாலும் தெய்வமகன், வீ.பா.க.பொம்மன், வசந்த மளிகை, திருவிளையாடல், உத்தம புத்திரன், கர்ணன், பட்டிக்காடா பட்டணமா போன்ற சூப்பர் டூப்பர் ஹிட் படங்களைப் பற்றி அதிகம் நமக்குள் பரிமாறிக் கொள்கிறோம். ஆனால் இந்த ஹரிச்சந்திரா போன்ற திரைப் படங்களில் அவர் நடிப்பைப் பற்றி அவ்வளவாக யாரும் பேசுவதோ, எழுதுவதோ, விமர்சிப்பதோ கிடையாது. இது ஏன் என்றே எனக்குப் புரிய வில்லை. இன்னும் சொல்லப் போனால் சூப்பர் ஹிட் படங்களை விட இது போன்ற படங்களில் உயிரைக் கொடுத்து நடித்திருக்கிறார் நடிகர் திலகம். ஹரிச்சந்திரா வரிசையில் நானே ராஜா, முதல் தேதி, தெனாலி ராமன், ராணி லலிதாங்கி, மணமகன் தேவை, அம்பிகாபதி, பாக்கியவதி, அவள் யார், எல்லாம் உனக்காக, வளர்பிறை, அறிவாளி, நெஞ்சிருக்கும் வரை, பாதுகாப்பு, தங்கைக்காக, இருதுருவம், துணை, தியாகி, ஹிட்லர் உமாநாத் என்று ஒரு நீள் பட்டியலே இருக்கிறது. இவற்றையெல்லாம் நாம் மறந்து விட வில்லை. ஆனால் போதிய அளவிற்கு முக்கியத்துவம் நாமே கொடுப்பதில்லை என்பது என் தாழ்மையான கருத்து. படம் தோல்வியடைந்து இருக்கலாம். தோல்வியடைந்து விட்டதனாலேயே ஒரு படம் குறைந்து விட்டதாக ஆகி விடாது. அதில் நம்மவரின் உன்னதமான காலத்தை வென்ற நடிப்பு இருக்கிறதல்லவா! நமக்கு அது ஒன்று போதுமே! ஆனால் நடிகர் திலகம் இப்படங்களில் செலுத்தியிருக்கும் அபார உழைப்பு மற்ற மாபெரும் வெற்றி பெற்ற படங்களுக்கு கொஞ்சமும் குறைந்ததல்ல. மேற்கூறிய படங்களின் பட்டியலில் பெரும்பான்மையான படங்களின் dvd-க்கள் கிடைக்கின்றன. இது போன்ற கடந்த காலங்களில் சுமாரான வெற்றியையோ, அல்லது தோல்வியையோ தழுவிய படங்களில் நம் நடிகர் திலகம் காட்டியுள்ள அசாத்திய திறமைகளை எல்லோரும் அறியும் வண்ணம் நாமனைவரும் வெளிக்கொணர முயற்சிக்க வேண்டும் என்பதே என் ஆசை.
