Its just made(coerced?) to grow, over a period of time(as we are left with no choice!), by which time, the couple gets too old to enjoy the youthful essense of innocent-love. :?

Even most "needs" in today's scenario r actually materialistic wants & physical desires, wrongly categorised by today's confused society as "needs"! :roll: :(

Actually many a couple of today is far more worried abt getting too old to enjoy the youthful essence of not-so innocent physical satisfaction (= 3 letters)!

Lamby..why so vehement??I am sure there are a lot of couples out here in todays generation who want and accept love for what it is .Couples who love doing simple things like just walking down a road in falling rain under one umbrella or sharing a hot cup of tea on a cold afternoon..or just watching a nice movie together.These are things which are made special because of the person they do these things with.There are a lot of friends I know who either want such things for themselves or treasure their relationship because they have these things.

I second ssajinika. Not all fall in that category. Love does not mean SEX to many of them. They still value certain things.

There are bad and good things in both these concepts. Somehow I always prefer GETTING TO KNOW bef marrying. (That getting to know can be a weekend time spent, chit-chats, movies, planning out future, sweet nothings, romantic gestures, career talks... JUST ANYTHING, to know othre peson better)

Arranged marriage is marrying a stranger. Does it not sound weird to marry someone, because he works as xyz in abc company, earns xxxx amout, and belongs to xxxx caste?

Some arranged marriages are fortunate enough to see real love over a period of time. I dont deny it. Not all though.

Just blindly having a love marriage, cause of physical attraction is even worse.

A balance should be struck.

I feel, a person should be given an opportunity to GET TO KNOW THE significant othre, before plunging into something WHICH WOULD COST life.

Sorry if I got a bit hot under the collar SS, SP........but today's increasingly materialistic/sensually-oriented lifestyle tat seems to be the "in" thing (also often repeatedly backed up by our sly media as "hot" news!) in our society has made me feel put down lately & made me nearly lose all hope in looking forward to an ideal family life tat I'd wanted in the 1st place (for which sum ppl. had even ridiculed me!) :(

I jus hate the way they've turned out over the decades.......totally different from wat they originally were created for in the 1st place!

Oh, well......I reckon marrying the right person wud change my opinion (wud luv to be proved wrong in this regard!).....keeping my fingers crossed until then (or atleast trying to!)......
