There is a story behind 'Nee Irangaayenil pugaledhu' by Papanasam Sivan. It seems he took it to a music director for use in a movie and he declined. He then sought the help of C.Rajagopalachari who helped him and arranged it to be sung by M.S.Subbulakshmi. The song was popularized by MS.

There is a song that maharajapuram santhanam sang on Lord Hanuman............not sure of the lyrics....but it goes something like.........Hanumanai anuthinam ninai manamey"...i think......have you heard of it? sp nga neenga ketu irukeengala? if anyone who is aware of this song could give me a link for that song.....i would be absolutely happy & thankful..
