I think NOV and for that matter Gnani are correct but they should understand Rajamouli and telugu cinema's background. For a film industry where only masalas are welcomed and preferred by people, you can't expect something to change overnight. Rajamouli has come a long way from his mass movies to this level. Read and understand with that context.

I didn't even know who is Rajamouli before the release of Naan E .I don't bother how were his previous movies. Basically I am not a big fan of animated movies.
But Naan E impressed me not just for the animation work ,but the gripping entertainment with more of technical work with the budget restriction.

For a telugu film industry, films like Yamadonga and Sye are too good. Even for *normal* people, they are good movies unless someone wants to wear the hypocritical tag.

Unlike you, I have seen all movies of Rajamouli. I have seen how he is slowly deviating from mainstream telugu cinema one step at a time. He may not be a great director for some. But I feel he will go places in the future if he continues to deliver good movies. Mariyadha ramanna and Naan E are one stop towards that. NOV and Gnanai expect him to do that just like what they expect from a tamil film director. I don't find fault in that since they need not view things with a background. That was my point.
