Kamal Haasan's Nationwide / statewide blockbusters like Ek Du Je keliye, Maro charitra, Salangai Oli, Swathi mutyam etc(few left, can't recollect) too were NOT regular commercial movies. But still they were very big blockbusters. This kind of success et all happenned ONLY for Kamal! While using MGR Formula, do good happy go lucky guy hero, with all the well tested formulas were the Norm for success, Kamal Films naturally broke them!!!
Kamal has been breaking them from the start. There is nothing new here. Cinema has room for everyone.

If the same film was done by anyone else, no matter how he performs, it would have been called the greatest performance by default!
But poor Kamal Hassan continues to get certificates for his talent - along the lines of "watch out for this new talent, he is good" as if he is a newbee in the film industry - by every other film critic!
If Papanasam crosses 100 Cr+ (which I think it will), it will be a big achievement. In terms of % return, Papanasam will likely be #1 by end of 2016.
As on now around 40 shows in satyam cinemas in this weekend. higher than opening week end.
