Kamal never gave so much importance to style as he did for Indian Thaththa. Kamal always relied to body language and voice modulation for various roles. But in Indian thaththa there was more than that. There was no wonder that Shankar had Rajini in his mind when he wrote the role for Indian thaththa.
Rajini would have definitely done much different that what Kamal had to offer. Because they are totally two different actors but Rajini would have done justice also to that role with more style. Kamal had subtle style but Rajini would have made that part more obvious I think.

but chandru, he would not fit there... or maybe shankar would made the character differently than what he did for kamal.
but there is no reason why the two roles has to be done by the same actor... weak character dhaan, so vera hero yaarachum kooda potrukkalaam.
bottomline: nammaalu vayasaana role'laam pichi odhariduvaar... yengster roles dhaan suit aagadhu...

this is what i don't like in shankar. Manushan ivLo senjum innum thundu, style intha levella thaan yosikkuraaru! If you take style the whole thatha role is filled with style and mannerisms. Something like what Nandu does in Aalavanthaan. for ex, even that vaaikkarisi scene, initial murder scene in the Ribbon building, some mannerisms during the TV interview talk, Avlo yen, the whole varmakkalai itself appears as a style.Quote:
